Warning !!!!!!!!!!

We are going to see ultra high outdoor temps the week!!

Remember , a properly sized air conditioner is sized for a maximum capacity at 95 degrees outdoor air temperature.

This week the temps will exceed that.

As the outdoor temp goes above that your capacity declines.

Expect the following.:

In the daytime it’s very possible that your system will not get the temperature as low as it normally does.

It may only get your home temperature to the 74-75 range when the outdoor temps are over peak out door temperature.

Your system may not shut off for hours! After 4 hours of continuous running you need to shut the unit down for 5 minutes, and restart it back up. This will help the ac to cool down, and take a small break. By doing this will help it out and prevent your system freezing up or other issues!

If you are on a power saving system with your power company it may shut your system off randomly. If it does then you will know thats it is not cooling your house be sure to call the power company to turn it back on line!

Your filter if you have not changed it then you need too. This will help out with getting all the air flow you can get. Also could need replacing sooner the next time because of all the extended run time.

Things to do in extreme heat to help cut your cooling requirement :

Try not to cook indoors.

Don’t do as much laundry.

Keep your drapes closed.

Run your exhaust fan when you shower.

Keep your thermostat at one reasonable setting. 75 is reasonable in extreme heat exceeding 95 degrees .

Run your ceiling fans.

Make sure your return/supply vents are unblocked.

Keep lighting to a minimum.

Keep the use of any heat producing items inside your home to a minimum.

Stay cool. If your system won’t get to the mid 70s in the extreme heat you may have a cooling system issue.

And last be sure to check on your elderly and family too.
