We build with Light Gauge Steel and here's the reason for that 👇🏼

Lumber warps, shrinks, and twists. In manufactured housing, that instability doesn't just affect the finished product — it creates real damage during transport, meaning repairs before a unit ever gets used.

LGS eliminates that problem entirely. Our steel framing holds its shape in any climate, screwed joints that stay permanently tight, and every component arrives on-site pre-cut and ready to install straight off our Howick machine.

The result? Walls that are straighter, units that arrive intact, and builds that are faster, more accurate, and stronger from the ground up.

Outdoor hospitality is having a moment and it’s not slowing down.

From tiny homes and glamping to reimagined RV parks, what used to feel niche is quickly becoming mainstream. Travelers are looking for more than just a place to stay, they want experiences that feel connected to nature, flexible, and a little different from traditional hotels.

A recent article from HOTELS Magazine points out that this shift is expected to accelerate into 2026 and beyond, as outdoor-focused stays continue moving into the spotlight.

It’s less about replacing traditional hospitality—and more about expanding what it can look like. As travel habits evolve, so does the idea of where (and how) people want to stay.

You don’t plan for disaster, it just happens. And when it does, “temporary” housing doesn’t always feel temporary.

After the Maui fires in 2025, new approaches are starting to rethink what that kind of housing should be—focusing less on quick fixes, and more on spaces people can actually live in over time. A recent piece from Fast Company highlights designs that prioritize durability, light, and livability—not just shelter.

It’s a shift worth noticing. When everything changes in a moment, the question isn’t just how fast housing arrives it’s how well it holds up after.

One of our principal company values is providing disaster relief to those who need it. We’re not there yet, but big ideas have small beginnings and we’re here for the long haul.

Sustainability gets talked about a lot in housing but what does it actually look like in practice?

It often starts with the basics: using fewer resources, creating less waste, and building in a way that holds up over time. For tiny homes, that can mean smaller footprints and lower energy demand. But the materials and process matter just as much.

At Mytikas, that means starting with recycled, American-made steel instead of wood, reducing the need for deforestation. It means precision manufacturing that minimizes waste, and building systems designed to last longer and remain recyclable.

It’s not about adding sustainability at the end—it’s part of how everything is built from the beginning.

As housing continues to evolve, the focus is shifting from “how fast can we build?” to “how responsibly can we build?”

“Mytikas” is often pronounced wrong, and we’re not surprised! Our name actually comes from Mytikas, the highest peak of Mount Olympus—a place tied to ambition, elevation, and pushing beyond the ordinary.

That idea really hit home for us.

From the name to the logo (a blend of the Olympic torch and a Spartan helmet), it all points back to a simple mindset: build with purpose, aim higher, and create something that lasts.

It’s less about following trends, and more about setting a different standard—one that’s grounded in strength, durability, and thoughtful design.

At the end of the day, the name is just a starting point. What matters is what gets built from it.

Tiny homes are often talked about for their size and convenience, but their environmental impact is just as important.

Smaller footprints naturally mean less energy use, fewer materials, and lower long-term resource demand. It’s one of the reasons tiny homes continue to be part of the broader sustainability conversation.

At Mytikas, that conversation goes deeper. We start with recycled, American-made steel to reduce reliance on wood and limit deforestation. Our precision manufacturing process minimizes waste, and our materials are designed to last longer and remain recyclable over time.

Sustainability isn’t a feature, it’s built into how these homes are made. As housing evolves, the question isn’t just how we build—but how responsibly we do it.

Mytikas invested millions into advanced manufacturing—but the real story is why.

This level of investment isn’t just about equipment. It’s about precision, consistency, and how housing is built moving forward.

With advanced roll-forming technology, structural components can now be produced within half a millimeter of accuracy. That kind of precision changes everything—from how structures come together to how they perform over time.

It also reflects a broader shift in the industry:
• Less variability, more control
• Customization without sacrificing scale
• Manufacturing that prioritizes long-term performance

As housing demand grows, the conversation is evolving. It’s no longer just about building faster—it’s about building smarter.

Why steel framing in tiny homes?

Steel doesn’t warp, shrink, or attract pests. It performs consistently in changing climates and allows for precise, repeatable manufacturing at scale.

As housing demand grows, construction methods matter.
