Completion of the first pass of LPS *L**e Polishing System* Treatment of the Solvent Extracted Product generated as part of our ongoing lab work.
For clarity:
SES stands for Solvent Extraction System, which is the Solvent Extraction process that PESCO supplies as the first step in polishing the L**e/VGO cuts pulled out in
the Distillation Section of the PESCO supplied plant.
LPS stands for L**e Polishing System and this refers to Final Process Step that PESCO employs in their Used Oil Recycling plants.
The LPS employs activated Bauxite arranged in banks of columns, in order to pull the final odor, color and
some sulfur out of the Solvent Extracted Product.
For brevity “Activated Bauxite” is
often referred to as “Clay”. One syllable rather than six….
The work shown here is what we call “One Pass LPS Product”.
It is equivalent to running the SES Treated oil through one pass of clay columns.
Note that:
The attached photo shows the color of this oil compared to the initial VGO *Vacuum Gas Oil* Cuts and the Solvent Extracted Oil.
The color of this oil is way below the 0.5 color on our D1500 color comparator, which is a good thing; so we can’t get an accurate read.
