The Laborer performs a variety of tasks involving physical labor at underground utility construction sites. The laborer will assist other crew members and carry out duties as required by the foreman in order to complete the job with excellence.

Essential functions include patching asphalt with hot and cold mix, excavating and filling trenches, holes and ditches by hand, operating a variety of hand and power towels, setting braces to support the sides of excavations, hand raking, seeding and laying straw as needed, maintaining a clean job site, organizing tools and equipment and securing the job site each day to eliminate potential hazards, handling materials, loading and unloading trucks, driving company vehicles, cleaning vehicles and equipment, following safety procedures, installing traffic control devices for the job.

Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, pass a criminal background check and pass a drug test.

Compensation is an hourly rate, based on experience. Overtime is possible. Benefits include group health insurance, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, short term disability insurance, SIMPLE IRA retirement with company matching up to 3%, paid time off days and paid holidays.

The Laborer performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous physical labor at underground utility construction projects. The laborer will assist other crew members and carry out duties as required by the foreman in order to complete the job with excellence.

Essential functions include patching asphalt with hot and cold mix, excavating and filling trenches, holes and ditches by hand, operating a variety of hand and power towels, setting braces to support the sides of excavations, hand raking, seeding and laying straw as needed, maintaining a clean job site by removing waste materials, organizing tools and equipment, handling materials, loading and unloading trucks, driving company vehicles, cleaning vehicles and equipment, following safety procedures, installing traffic control devices for the job.

While performing the duties of this job, the laborer regularly works in outside weather conditions. This person frequently works near moving mechanical parts, and is exposed to wet, cold, hot and humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Personal protective equipment is required.

The laborer lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. This person lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The laborer requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. This position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. As a result, this person must have excellent stamina.

This is a full-time position and the laborer reports directly to the foreman. Standard days of work are Monday through Friday and hours vary depending on the job. This person may be required to work longer hours during the day or on weekends.

Preferred Education and Experience includes high school graduation or GED equivalent. Basic knowledge of hand tools and usage of them is preferred.

Additional eligibility qualifications include possessing a valid driver’s license, having a clean driving record for at least 3 years, passing a criminal background check and passing a pre-employment drug test. Random drug testing and maintaining a good driving record is required once hired.

☄️ Mud Recycling ♻️ When reaming, the environmentally safe drilling fluid is pumped down the drill string to the reamer and out to the exit pit 850’ away. It is then pumped back up to the reclaimer, separating the solids and rock cuttings. Finally, the cleaned fluid is pumped back to the drill to cycle again
