The Laborer performs a variety of tasks involving physical labor at underground utility construction sites. The laborer will assist other crew members and carry out duties as required by the foreman in order to complete the job with excellence.
Essential functions include patching asphalt with hot and cold mix, excavating and filling trenches, holes and ditches by hand, operating a variety of hand and power towels, setting braces to support the sides of excavations, hand raking, seeding and laying straw as needed, maintaining a clean job site, organizing tools and equipment and securing the job site each day to eliminate potential hazards, handling materials, loading and unloading trucks, driving company vehicles, cleaning vehicles and equipment, following safety procedures, installing traffic control devices for the job.
Must have a valid driverβs license and a clean driving record, pass a criminal background check and pass a drug test.
Compensation is an hourly rate, based on experience. Overtime is possible. Benefits include group health insurance, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, short term disability insurance, SIMPLE IRA retirement with company matching up to 3%, paid time off days and paid holidays.
