I would like to thank all the volunteers that came out today and helped with the soldiers rooms. It might seem like it was no big deal, but I assure you, the soldiers coming home to some comfort will think it's a big deal. Thanks again for your support!!

E-Army Message System Test

The 307th Engineer Battalion will conduct a test of the E-Army Message system on 1 October 2013 at approximately 1000 hours. This will only be a test to validate our contact information is correct for participating families. This system uses an electronic voice and e-mail to advise Soldiers and Family members of important information. We will be using this system to announce any last minute changes in redeployment information. If you receive a message and no longer wish to or if you do not receive a message that morning and wish to, please contact Mr. Ken Mehus at [email protected] and/or contact our FRG representative Mrs Amanda Kaster @ [email protected] with your updated information. This was the final test of this system.

IMPORTANT UPDATE ABOUT LOCATION CHANGE FOR MONDAY'S "ARMY STRONG! MARRIAGE STRONGER!" SPOUSES' FORUM:

Due to the government shutdown, we have had to change location for Monday's FRG "Army Strong--Marriage Stronger" Presentation. Instead of at the FRG Center, it will be in the 307th EN BN Headquarters building at the end of Kedenburg St. Also due to the change of location, there will be no on-site childcare. The morning session will begin at 0930 and the evening session begins at 1830. Please call our staff duty desk at 910-396-4061 or see a map of Ft. Bragg for directions:http://www.fortbraggmwr.com/MWRpublications/braggmap.pdf When you see this little bulldozer...you know you're in the right spot! (It sits in front of the battalion's headquarters building on Kedenburg St.!) Looking forward to seeing you there!

There is nothing more exciting then returning to Green Ramp (FB) and seeing your family. As my soldiers step off the plan still wearing their combat uniforms with dust still on their boots, some will be greeted by wives, children, family and friends. But soon afterwards, the married Soldiers drive away with their families to the comfort of their homes, whereas the single Soldiers return to barracks that are empty of everything. Soldiers will not receive their items in storage for 5-7 days. For some it doesn’t seem like a long time. After returning from 9 months of “FUN “ in the sun 5-7 days is a very long time to be without, once your back in the states. If your intrested in donating please contact Mrs Kaster [email protected].

137th Sapper Company Family and Friends,

If you are listed as the spouse or next of kin for a soldier in the company, you should have received an e-mail from the FRG requiring a reply to verify your e-mail address. Please take a moment to reply so the FRG can ensure we have up to date contact information. *For the spouses, the key callers will be contacting you this week to touch base and verify telephone numbers. If you have changed any information, please provide your new contact info in the reply. It is important we have current contact information to provide the battalion Family Readiness Support Advisor to input into the E-Army messaging system. This system is used to relay notifications regarding your soldier's return. If you are the spouse/nok and did not receive an e-mail, please reply to [email protected]. THANK YOU all for your assistance.

Very respectfully,

There is still TIME!!! To order Deploment books.

If your soldier doesn't have the time or means to take photos and notes to help document this deployment to Afghanistan, a truly life-changing experience with people they won't want to forget, you might consider purchasing them a TASK FORCE SAW 2013 DEPLOYMENT YEARBOOK!

The unit has put together a deployment yearbook that is available for purchase at $32 and will be available in early November. The POC for the yearbooks is LT Allie Braun([email protected]). She has this to say about them:

"The yearbook is 280 pages long: , 20 pages per company and roughly 4 pages per platoon. We've tried to include as much about the deployment as possible. It has all of the companies in the task force.... The price for the yearbook is $32.00. Once I have someone's order I send them an invoice via email through paypal and they just need to click on "view and pay this invoice." There are several payment options to include paypal or credit card.
