began its environmental compliance journey in 1987 as a leak detection services company for owners and operators of underground petroleum tank systems. Forthcoming EPA regulations—40 CFR 280—were to require regular testing of UST systems for leaks. The founder and current President/CEO of CGRS bought some tank and line testing equipment and then hit the road. The industry and the testing equipment

were in their infancy and the processes were less than ideal. CGRS, always searching for better options for our customers, became a Tracer Tight® affiliate in 1992 and began testing underground tanks and piping using Tracer. The advantages of this technology were numerous and the business grew quickly. Tracer Research was eventually purchased by Praxair and CGRS continues to use the Tracer Tight® method of release detection to this day. CGRS

It didn’t take long to realize that if we identified a problem with a customer’s fuel system,
they expected CGRS to provide solutions. Our Environmental and Construction departments were created to address the environmental compliance issues that were being identified during the inspection and testing of fuel systems. The goal was now turnkey environmental, compliance and construction services for the petroleum industry. As the industry developed, CGRS continued to evolve to meet the demands of a changing regulatory environment. As you can see throughout the website, our service offerings have diversified significantly from tank and line leak testing and environmental remediation services. Yet, our primary focus is still environmental compliance for the petroleum industry. Our staff recognizes that we are nothing without our customers. For over 25 years they have entrusted us with their environmental compliance management. They are why we continue to be on the lookout for new services, new processes and new ways to be the best. Innovative, practical, cost effective solutions are always the goal.

This week we're in Loveland, Colorado for FleetCon 2026. It's an exciting year for the event, as FleetPros celebrates 50 years of bringing fleet professionals together for education and networking, and CGRS was proud to sponsor this milestone year.

Today, our Sales and Marketing Director Tim Goodrich took the stage as one of the session presenters. His talk, "A Comprehensive Overview of Fuel System Design, Construction, Environmental Management, and Compliance," covered the full range of fleet fueling options, from gasoline and diesel to CNG, RNG, and EV infrastructure, along with the design, maintenance, and compliance work that goes into a fuel system that actually holds up.

When a convenience store client began a full rebuild of their store, product piping, and fuel dispensers, our environmental team was on-site conducting sampling alongside the client's upgrades contractor. During that work, we identified petroleum contaminated soil and groundwater impacts and pivoted quickly into further investigation.

Our field crew, overseeing drilling services, have since collected soil and groundwater samples to define the extent of the impact, while our project management and office team coordinate the investigation behind the scenes. The environmental assessment and investigation are ongoing, and it's a great example of how our team adapts in real time to protect our clients and the communities they serve.
