Bought a brand new 3 phase panel from American Rotary to power the CNC machines. The repairs to the old one didn't fully resolve the issue. Thanks for such quick shipping AR. The shop is now fully back up and operational after installing the new panel and wiring it up. 💪

This week's project: Replacing all the 330V start and run capacitors in the 3 phase rotary converter for the shop. The black ones will be replaced Thursday and the silver ones on Sunday. The contactor replacement last November didn't end up fully resolving the issue, so if this new repair doesn't do the trick, then I have a whole new replacement panel ready to buy. Thanks American Rotary for your amazing service. Such a great company to work with.

The shop is powered back up and all put back together. Thanks to James at American Rotary for helping diagnose the problem. I got into the control panel and replaced the motor start contactor as suggested and this has solved the problem! This 3 phase unit has been going strong for almost 13 years (Installed Dec 2010). It turns out the coil on the original contactor relay wasn't strong enough to hold itself closed any longer. I ordered a direct replacement from Grainger and got it installed the day before yesterday. The CNC machines are running strong today and I'm catching up on stocking my shelves.

Also, look what UPS just delivered. A Raspberry Pi 5!!! It's the 4Gb version (the 8Gb will show up soon). This is enough to start developing the new Wicked Aluminum case for the Raspberry Pi 5 though.

The main 3 phase converter in my CNC shop is turning itself off randomly. I figure it's either the Universe testing my resilience or telling me to take the week off 😝. I called American Rotary this morning and we have it narrowed down to either a bad contactor ($100 part) or a bad micro controller board (which would require a new control box be purchased at apx $2,000). So I'm tearing into it today and hopefully it's just the contactor. There's a few more wires in here than I thought I would find 😲. 1 step at a time and fingers crossed! Thanks for the quick troubleshooting over the phone today American Rotary!
