Two plates, same antibody, very different signal — because ELISA sensitivity depends on more than the antibody alone. 🧪
High-binding plates maximise protein adsorption, which works well for standard sandwich and direct ELISAs where you want maximum capture. Low-binding surfaces reduce non-specific sticking, which is critical when you're working with small peptides or precious low-abundance targets where background noise is the enemy.
Choosing the wrong binding class doesn't always fail loudly — sometimes it just quietly buries your signal in background.
