Enjoy some good old-fashioned baseball, hit the concessions for some brats or dogs, visit with Star Wars characters for a fun photo op, and try your hand at driving a robot. We had an amazing time at Fort Myers India Fest 2026!
Thousands attended, and our booth was buzzing with families excited to learn about robotics and how to get involved in FIRST.

The Florida FIRST Tech Challenge State Championship was a blast! We always love connecting with all the teams, sharing our work with judges, and competing with the best of the best. We enjoyed teaming up with for the play offs and watching our friends on Charlotte High School Fighting Tarpons Golden Fish #13093 go undefeated, making it all the way to the top! We were honored to win the 1st Place Design Award and a bid to a FIRST Premier Event! Shoutout to our amazing mentees, .ftc , who won the 3rd place Sustain Award in their rookie year, plus, had an incredible second season, and rocked their third season and graciously shared a sonic hub.

We are incredibly proud of our small but mighty team this year, half being rookies new to FIRST, who came together this season to learn the program, the game, and the skills to quickly overcome some unexpected challenges, designing, building, and programming a training and outreach robot, plus 3 iterations of our competition robot! All while logging over 2500 hours for 135 outreach events, reaching 120,000 people, starting 3 FTC teams, mentoring 7 FIRST teams, and assisting 40, along with continued local and State advocacy work, upholding our team tradition of high-impact community support.

We are deeply thankful to our sponsors, many of whom continue to support us year after year. Your support and encouragement has enabled everything we do, along with our inspiring mentors, coaches, and parents. A heartfelt thank you to all of the generous volunteers, judges, referees, and leadership team for the countless hours you invest to make these events possible. This community is the best! The kinship, guidance, support, encouragement, and friendly competition has fueled our growth and development and the connections inspire us season after season. We're excited to meet more FTC friends on the invitational circuit!

We had an awesome day in Tallahassee for Day at the Capitol with our FIRST in Florida friends, representing FIRST Tech Challenge with Ftc16290 Z.I.P Ties, TallyRobotics Legacy, Doolittle Institute STEM Outreach FTC- The Imposters #18147, & the_purple_axolotls_ftc.

This was our third year participating, & it was great to reconnect with Senator Kathleen Passidomo’s team, Representative Jenna Persons-Mulicka, & enjoy our first sit-down with Adam Botana. It was an honor to share our experience & that of our fellow SWFL teams including our awesome all-rookie mentor team, Fort Myers High Greenwave Geeks, of the School District of Lee County as we work to break down barriers to participation for local schools & enable more local students to participate.

We had an incredible time welcoming the Horizon Council STEM-to-Career Connections Committee to our workshop this week!

It was a privilege to share our team's work and the growing impact of FIRST robotics in Southwest Florida with leaders from local businesses, higher education, and our school district. The conversations around expanding access to STEM, strengthening our new local league, and connecting students with future career pathways were truly inspiring. It was wonderful to have the Fort Myers High School FTC team join us and be part of these meaningful conversations and connections.

We’re grateful for the enthusiasm and support shown during the visit and are excited about the partnership and mentorship opportunities ahead. Experiences like this show how robotics goes beyond competition — building confidence, real-world skills, and meaningful connections between students and our community.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and invested time in supporting the future of STEM in SWFL. We can’t wait to see what we build together next!

Java The Hutts brought the Force on Saturday, with a bot ready to take on the dark side! Our Freshman Padawan designer and build lead worked relentlessly in the droid bays with team members old and new, to roll out a robot that matches our big goals for this season.

As Yoda would say, we didn't just 'try'—we did. We’re already back at the base making a few special modifications, training the drive team, and strategizing. Congratulations to the whole team for proving that when we work together, the Force is truly with us. The calibration continues—onward to the League Championship!

A special shoutout to two of our all-rookie mentee teams, Bots4Life and the FMHS GreenWave Geeks, who both had great days with their own breakthrough performances, plus the Red Hot Chili Bots and the Verot-Bots Freshman team. Between celebrating their wins, both on the field and in the pits, plus fun match ups with former team members who are now training up their own mentee teams, our galaxy may be rapidly expanding, but growth is good and friends always make everything brighter! Thank you to Tampa Bay Technology Alliance and all 50 of our fellow Gulf Coast League teams.

We celebrated with Tampa Bay Technology Alliance and over 500 FIRST Tech Challenge friends kicking off the Gulf Coast League’s first meet of the season! We loved connecting with so many new teams and are so proud of all of our amazing rookie mentee teams, as well as our own rookie members who have designed, built, and programmed, our training robot that they’ve been taking turns driving shooting, and loading in matches so they can all try out the various roles. We can’t wait to see everyone at the the next one!

What could be more exciting than kicking off the first meet of the Decode season with all of our amazing FIRST Tech Challenge teams of the Gulf Coast League? We have been working with the Tampa Bay Technology Alliance to set up this afternoon and can’t wait to see everyone in the morning! Come on down to Arthrex One in Naples to see FIRST robotics in action!

We are counting down the days until the FIRST Tech Challenge season game reveal! We are proud to host the Gulf Coast League South Kickoff Event at IMAG History & Science Center on Saturday, September 6th. All teams and anyone interested in learning more about robotics or FTC, joining a team, or starting a team of their own for 7th-12th grade students, are encouraged to attend as we livestream the FIRST in Florida Game Reveal, check out some robots, plus brainstorm design ideas and strategy!
