⛪ Preserving one of Kansas' most recognized landmarks!

Mid-Continental Restoration Company is proud to be nearing completion of restoration work at the Basilica of St. Fidelis in Victoria, Kansas, often referred to as the "Cathedral of the Plains."

Our crew, led by Ron Durbin, has been performing specialized masonry restoration work including:
- Miscellaneous tuckpointing
- Caulking of vertical stone cap and band joints
- Targeted repairs to help preserve the building envelope and extend the life of this historic structure

One aspect we appreciate about historic preservation is that every project is unique. In this case, the owners chose to retain the natural weathered appearance of the stone rather than perform a full cleaning, preserving the character and history that make this landmark so recognizable.

We're honored to play a small role in helping preserve this iconic Kansas treasure for future generations. Thank you to Ron Durbin and Crew for your efforts on this fantastic project!

Originally constructed in 1925, Hotel Indigo Dallas Downtown has remained a recognizable part of downtown Dallas for nearly a century. Mid-Continental Restoration was proud to help preserve the building’s historic character through a comprehensive exterior restoration project.

Our crews completed extensive masonry and plaster restoration work across the facade, including tuckpointing, brick repair and replacement, terra cotta restoration, and decorative detailing. Throughout the project, our team coordinated closely with other trades during the installation of new window systems while also safely scheduling work around active radioactive communication towers located on the roof. Despite the challenges of working in an active downtown environment, restoration activities were completed safely and efficiently while maintaining uninterrupted pedestrian traffic below.

The completed restoration renewed the building’s exterior while preserving the timeless architectural character that makes Hotel Indigo a standout in downtown Dallas. Read the full project recap below.
