We’re proud to celebrate our Principal Engineer, Dan White, on being recognized by AIA Northwest Florida!

In accepting the award, Dan took the opportunity to recognize two mentors who helped shape his career, Phil Humber and Chris Garick.

Dan described Phil as the “godfather of engineers working alongside architects” in Northwest Florida. Phil understood that the best work happens when architects and engineers aren’t simply working on the same project, but truly working together.

Dan also shared one of the things he admired most about Phil: his ability to walk into a room where everyone was frustrated and at odds, and somehow walk out with everyone as friends and with a positive path forward.

Along with Chris, who has been a mentor to Dan since establishing Humber-Garick in 1999, Phil helped shape a philosophy Dan has carried throughout his own career: engineering is about more than calculations and technical solutions. It’s about relationships, trust and collaboration.

That legacy continues to influence the way we work at HG Engineers today.

HG Engineers is proud to have been part of Tarpon Beach Gulf Front Park, a new public beach access along Scenic Highway 98 in Destin.

The $16.96 million park adds 340 feet of Gulf-front beach access along with free parking, restrooms, four pavilions, ADA-accessible spaces and accommodations for first responders and lifeguards.

Projects like this are especially rewarding because they create lasting spaces for our community to enjoy for generations. Congratulations to the City of Destin, Okaloosa County and everyone who helped bring this beautiful new public space to life!

✨ A fresh chapter for a Niceville favorite!

HG Engineers is proud to have been part of the transformation of the newly renovated Costa Union Club and MJ’s Place in Niceville!

Blending a distinctive 1920s Art Deco-inspired style with spaces designed for connection, collaboration and community, the building now features the reopened MJ’s coffee shop, members-only gathering spaces, a conference room, podcast studio and more.

We love seeing projects like this come to life—and even more, seeing them filled with people! Congratulations to the Costa family and the entire project team on creating an exciting new destination for the Niceville community.

An exciting new chapter is beginning for one of Destin's most iconic beachfront landmarks.

The historic Sea Oats Motel has been acquired and is set to undergo a major transformation into a boutique hotel, preserving its rich history while creating an elevated guest experience for generations to come.

HG Engineers is proud to be part of the team helping bring this vision to life through our engineering expertise. We love seeing beloved local destinations reimagined while honoring the character that makes them so special.

A Dallas real estate firm has bought the 46-key Sea Oats Motel, one of only two hotels sitting directly on the beach in Destin, and plans a full renovation.

🚧 Exciting improvements are on the way at Liza Jackson Park!

Construction begins Aug. 3 on a $3.1 million renovation of the park's west side, including the boat launch. The project will bring a new restroom facility, improved parking for vehicles and boat trailers, a redesigned boat launch, new sidewalks, and stormwater enhancements.

HG Engineers is proud to provide engineering services for this important project, helping improve access and enhance one of Fort Walton Beach's most popular waterfront parks for residents and visitors alike.
