Its that time of year again! I am looking for workers. Full time and summer time workers are needed at Fort Wayne Roofing to work on LOW SLOPE ROOFS (not steep slope like residential shingle roofs). I won't sugar coat it. The work can be hard. In the summer the work can be hot. It can be dirty work (Dirty Jobs featured commercial roofing in an episode). With that being said, the pay and benefits are good. The knowledge of construction and roofing is unmeasurable and its an personal investment that will pay off the rest of your life. When I was a younger lad, I worked for a framing/siding/roofing contractor. My dad told the owner that he didn't have to pay me, because the knowledge and experience gained was enough pay (say what?? I thought my dad was crazy). The owner did pay me, but the money made back then has been long gone. The experience and knowledge gained is not. I can still layout and frame walls (and just did in my barn), still roof, still set windows and doors, and I can still install siding. These are things I would have had to pay someone to do if I never worked in construction (turned out that my dad isn't crazy). So if you know someone that is looking for a career, commercial roofing is a viable option. Experienced roofers are in high demand all across this country and are paid very well. Not everyone who is successful went to college. Plenty of people in this world have made their bones by being dedicated to a craft and working hard. The job is extremely rewarding. If you know someone who is looking for a career in the trades, please have them contact me.

With that being said, I also worked construction while going to college. I made enough money in the summers and weekend to pay for college. This allowed me to go to school without having any student loans. So if you know someone graduating high school and are looking for a summer job to help pay for school have them contact me.
