Installed some cabinet hardware and bathroom hardware in Innisbrook Place over the weekend.

All in all, 26 handles and 6 different bath pieces. Measuring, leveling, and overall precision is critical when installing cabinet hardware as it is uber-obvious to EVERYONE when handles dont line up. This is when my borderline OCD kicks in.

Ironically, I was called back to my neighbor's house to fix her curtain rod. A family member installed one portion of the rod using the cheap plastic anchors and I later finished the install using toggle bolts. The portion with the cheap anchors popped out, bending the bracket, while the portion with toggle bolts remained solid.

I've said it time and time again. These little plastic push-in wall anchors that come with curtain rods, towel bars, etc, need to be tossed out. They are simply inadequate for the intended purpose. Now, they will hold up a curtain rod. They'll hold up a towel bar. But...as soon as you add a set of curtains being opened and closed daily, or add a wet towel, or accidentally, ever so slightly, lean on that towel bar, they pull loose from the wall.

Don't. Use. Those. Cheap. Anchors.

Opt for toggle bolts/butterfly anchors instead. MUCH stronger hold. Shown in the pictures.

Replaced a gate near Alliance yesterday. What once held a rotten, falling off the hinges gate, now holds a built-to-last, closes like butter, wooden portal.

Replaced all of the drain pipe under my sink as the previous owners left it pretty nasty. It was obvious that there were leaks at some point. The cabinet bottom didnt look too good, however was still structurally intact.
I came across this silicone mat that fits perfectly under the sink and covers the bottom. It looks great and is nice because it will catch any future leaks or if one of the chemicals tips over.

Fixed an incredibly wobbly ceiling fan in Azle over the weekend.
When I first touched it, it felt like it was barely screwed into the box. Removed the entire fan and found a bracket from an old light fixture that hadn't been removed. Perhaps there was sooooome reason they left it up there, but it was causing havoc so I removed it. Once it was removed, I was able to securely remount it and ensure it was balanced properly.
Smooth and quiet now.

Blinds project in Azle, TX.

Replaced 10 cheap aluminum "Landlord Special" blinds with some nice 2" white faux wood blinds. Secured all with long 1 1/2" deck screws for stability, instead of the short screws that came with it. All were precisely measured by Jacob to fit each window with 1/4" spacing on both sides to ensure smooth operation and to block out as much sun and heat as possible.

Fence repair in Parkview Hills.

These two posts were already rotten at the base and nature was just a catalyst at that point. You can see they were only held up temporarily by a strap around the raised flower garden. Replaced the wooden posts with new steel posts in concrete, dug 24" into the ground for proper support, and leveled precisely.

Please reach out if you need help, especially after this weekend's shenanigans.

In Heritage over the weekend to figure out a gutter drainage problem.

This patio was expanded after it was first constructed but the gutters were never diverted, so they were just draining into the middle of the patio and pooling up there.

The Stealth Flow system was designed for just this purpose and it's expandable to reach farther out. My neighbor had this already but it was damaged and not long enough to reach the flower bed. Jacob and I replaced with a new downspout fitting and extra sections, and sealed up the joints better with some Stretch and Seal Tape.

Landscaping near The Trails of Marine Creek.

Got a little fresh air and sun on this one. Added some steel border straight out from the house, then gave it a little bendy bend around the shrubs for some flair. Replaced all of the existing mulch with some new black mulch.

Whenever you add or use color enhanced mulch, you'll wanna wait a good day or two before watering. Color enhanced means that dye was used. If you water too soon before it has a chance to dry under the sun, you risk washing away the dye from the mulch and into the rest of the garden or sidewalk.
