What happens when the unexpected happens? A lot of planning goes into being ready.

From managing stormwater to designing storm shelters and planning for emergency power, engineering plays an important role in preparing for the challenges that severe weather and other disruptions can bring.

This International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, we're recognizing the importance of thoughtful planning, collaboration and design in building more resilient communities.

Because while we can't predict what's next, we can plan for it.

Evidently, “field-tested engineering” applies to our merch, too! 😆

Our engineering team has reviewed the available evidence and determined the cup was structurally sound. The coffee, however, did not meet the same standard.

Don't worry, we will identify the uncaffeinated BHBer and reunite them with their cup. 🫡

Owner located, cup released from protective custody, and safely returned home. We wish both of them the best as they work through this morning’s traumatic separation. 😂

Dear Aledo resident having a rough morning,
If you got to work today and suddenly realized your YETI — and, more importantly, your coffee — never made it with you, we have some good news. ☕️

Around 7:40 this morning, while directing traffic at Bailey Ranch Road and Champions Drive, our officers witnessed your beloved morning brew make an unexpected fall from the top of your pickup as you turned east onto Bailey Ranch from Point Vista.

Unfortunately, the coffee was beyond saving. 🫡

The YETI, however, survived. Our officers were able to recover the cup and lid before either became a casualty of morning traffic.

Your cup is now safe and secure at the Aledo Police Department, 200 Old Annetta Road, inside City Hall. If you can tell us the name printed on the side, we’ll happily reunite you with it.

And because losing your morning coffee is hard enough, we’ll even refill it with some of our finest station coffee. We can’t promise it’ll be good, but it will be hot. 😂

Until then, your YETI is in protective custody.

College football is back! 🏈 To kick off the season, our teams showed up today repping our college colors. Let the rivalries begin!

Last Friday, BHB joined the City of Arlington for the ribbon-cutting celebrating the reopening of Debbie Lane!

This 1.5-mile roadway improvement project is ready to serve the Arlington community better and support growth in the area.

BHB was proud to provide civil engineering and land surveying services for the project, helping bring thoughtful solutions to everything from roadway design and drainage to future development needs. Along the way, our team worked closely with the City and construction team to tackle challenges, keep things moving, and find opportunities to make the project more efficient.

It’s always exciting to see a project we’ve worked on go from plans on a page to something the community can actually use. We’re proud to have been part of it!

Congratulations to the City of Arlington and everyone who helped make the Debbie Lane improvements a reality!

We traded our usual office attire for Hawaiian shirts and celebrated our August birthday crew with a little island-inspired fun (and a LOT of snocones!).

Nothing says “happy birthday” quite like a colorful shirt, a cold treat, and an excuse to take a break with your BHB crew.

This past weekend, we had the opportunity to celebrate the grand opening of the new Mansfield Animal Care & Control Center, and what a turnout it was!

We’re proud to have partnered with Quorum and Steel & Freeman on this project, providing MEP engineering for a new facility that will give Mansfield’s animals a safe, welcoming place to stay while they wait for their forever homes.

We got some great photos of the new building, but honestly… the animals were the stars of the show. 🐶🐱

We’re happy to have played a small part in bringing this new home to life. Here’s to lots of happy tails and forever homes ahead!

Today, we joined partners, community leaders and stakeholders to celebrate the groundbreaking of L. Clifford Davis at 2nd, a residential development that will help expand homeownership opportunities and increase the availability of quality, affordable housing for low- and moderate-income families and individuals.

Named in honor of Judge L. Clifford Davis, this development reflects a shared commitment to creating stronger communities and opening doors for future homeowners.
