If your thermostat has an "emergency heat" setting, you'll want to switch to that. It will heat your home more efficiently and save your outside unit. This needs to be done whenever the temp is going to be below freezing for long periods of time. Which is the next couple days.

*also drip your faucets
*cover your water spouts outside
*invest in water storage
