🎣 What a day on Lake Michigan!

I had the opportunity to take our Northside Machine & Tool team out for an awesome day of charter fishing with Legends Fishing and Dustin’s Dream Fishing Charters—and the fish were biting! Between our two boats, we landed 25 fish on one and 16 on the other for an incredible 41 fish total! 🎣🔥

Days like this are what team building is all about—getting away from the shop, having some fun, sharing some laughs, and building stronger relationships with the people you work alongside every day.

I couldn’t be more proud of this crew and everything we accomplish together at Northside Machine & Tool. Great teams don’t just work together—they grow, compete, celebrate, and make memories together!

Another Emergency Job Delivered!

When a customer’s production line goes down, every minute matters.

Our team quickly reverse engineered the worn component, created a CAD model, machined a new replacement, and had it ready to get the customer back up and running as fast as possible.

From a damaged part ➡️ CAD design ➡️ finished component, all under one roof.

💪 Investing in Capability, Not Just Capacity

When you’re a job shop, every day brings a new challenge.

One day it’s a precision-machined prototype. The next it’s a large weldment, a critical repair, or a fixture that has to be completed on a tight deadline. That’s why having a diverse range of equipment is so important.

We’re excited to add a Fadal VMC 6535 to our shop. With a machining envelope of 35” x 65” and 30” of Z travel, this machine expands our ability to take on larger and more complex projects while helping us keep lead times competitive.

What some people see as an older machine, we see as opportunity—another tool that helps us solve problems, create value, and serve our customers better.

Great food from Yurburger, friendly competition, shop tours, and meaningful conversations made for an outstanding afternoon. We appreciate our employees, customers, vendors, and friends who continue to support Northside Machine & Tool.

We are incredibly grateful for the team we’ve built, the customers who trust us with their work, and the opportunity to be a small part of keeping manufacturing strong. Most importantly, we thank the Lord for His continued blessings on our business, our employees, and their families.

We were honored to support the Madison Township Volunteer Fire Department's 18th Annual Charity Golf Outing by sponsoring a hole and spending the day with a great group of people for an even greater cause.
This event benefits Hoosier Burn Camp, an organization that is especially meaningful to me personally. After being burned at the age of 16, I experienced firsthand the impact that support, encouragement, and community can have during a difficult time. Seeing organizations like Hoosier Burn Camp continue to make a difference in the lives of young burn survivors is truly inspiring.
Thank you to Madison Township Volunteer Fire Department for organizing another outstanding event and for your continued support of Hoosier Burn Camp. We were grateful to be a small part of it.

CNC Setup Machinist / Future Programmer

Position Summary

Northside Machine & Tool is seeking a motivated CNC Setup Machinist who is looking to grow their career in machining, programming, quality control, and technical leadership. This position is ideal for someone with machining experience who wants to take on greater responsibility and continue developing their skills in a fast-paced job shop environment.

Responsibilities

* Setup and operate CNC mills and lathes
* Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
* Select and install tooling and workholding
* Perform first article and in-process inspections
* Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges
* Troubleshoot machining and setup issues
* Maintain quality and production standards
* Work closely with programmers and shop leadership to improve manufacturing processes
* Learn CNC programming and process development as skills progress
* Assist with quality control and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

* 4+ years of CNC machining experience preferred
* Setup experience preferred
* Ability to read blueprints and understand dimensional tolerances
* Experience using precision measuring instruments
* Strong problem-solving skills
* Reliable attendance and positive attitude
* Desire to learn, grow, and take on additional responsibility

Northside Machine & Tool was proud to enter a team in the 5th Annual SB Memorial Golf Outing benefiting the Community Cancer Network. It was a great day spent with good people for a great cause.

This outing was held in memory of Shon Barr, who was a former coworker and friend of mine and is greatly missed by many. It was great to see the community come together to support such an important cause while honoring his memory.

I believe it is important for businesses to support events like these. Strong communities are built when local businesses give back, support families in need, and invest in causes that make a real difference in people’s lives. We are thankful to have had the opportunity to be part of it.
