Iron Bars.........We have used them a few times to be the bottom cord of a truss, these iron bars were 2 3/8" thick. We had to set up a jig and line boar all of the timber over a 50' span, it was quite challenging, that was back in the day when I was working with the Schwartz brothers from Geneva. They were invaluable, all three in different ways. I have a video of drilling these beams out somewhere. Lots of stories in these builds.

This Barn survived the Palm Sunday tornadoes
One of the massive tornadoes was heading straight towards this barn near Russiaville, just before hitting the house and Barn it miraculously split in half into two tornadoes and went around the house and back together
There are some famous photographs from that group of storms that showed two tornadoes with space in between them
At any rate half the roof got tore off of this and as we take it down, I’m finding the rafter tales having up to 10-20 penny nails holding the rafters down
I can hear the farmer telling them to put more nails in, he did not want lose it to another storm

Here is another kit that we could make with inventory, it has a footprint of 22' wide by 38' long, made of reclaimed hand hewn timber, currently it would be made out of 10" x 10" post and beams. This home is what we consider our single story Colonial Cape reproduction, a great starter house and very similar to what you would find in an early New England home, the original barn post are much longer than shown here so this could just as easily become a two story or even a Saltbox, inquire within, one picture shows a scale model, then a few pictures of our custom frames, a picture shows a Saltbox kit that we built and then a few pictures are of finished homes.

We have two more of these Custom barn frame for sale, this one is sold but essentially it will be the same thing, there is the option for a complete second floor system, a different and less expensive roof system using a ridge beam and rafters vs the trusses shown here. please inquire for more info and pricing. the foot print is 36' wide x 38' long. all made from reclaimed 1800's barns

Barn For Sale, Here we are Flying Barn timbers, There are three of cross section, they are 32' long, The corner post are 15" wide, just a beautiful barn that suffered from its past, We are keeping a beautiful center section out of this frame for reassembly, it would be a great small barndominium living quarters, the final measurement will be 32' x 40'. recommending scissor trusses for the roof support, will make engineering easy and will be a lot cheaper to build, it is currently available and priced to move. please ask questions if interested
