👩‍🎓 Back on campus for Vanderbilt ASCE Industry Night.

It was especially fun having two Vandy alumni representing HMB and getting the chance to meet so many students throughout the night.

We know these events take a lot of time and energy, especially when you’re introducing yourself to company after company, so we really appreciate everyone who stopped by our table, asked questions, and spent a few minutes getting to know us.

It was great meeting new people, catching up with familiar faces, and being back at Vanderbilt.

🚦 Project Spotlight 🚦
We're proud to support the Alabama Department of Transportation on the US-231 Access Management Study and Roadway Improvement Project in Troy, Alabama. This initiative focuses on enhancing safety, improving traffic operations, and optimizing access along one of the area's key transportation corridors.

The project includes detailed traffic analysis, evaluation of existing access points, development of roadway and signal improvements, median and turn-lane assessments, and identification of U-turn bulb locations. The project aims to reduce conflict points, improve mobility, and create a safer experience for motorists traveling along US-231.

Our team is excited to help deliver solutions that balance safety, accessibility, and long-term transportation needs while supporting continued growth in the Troy community.

We’re excited to welcome Tyler Hale, P.E. to our Montgomery, Alabama office!

Tyler joins HMB with five years of experience in materials and testing at ALDOT, where he worked on developing new design specifications for hot mix asphalt and helped create new testing procedures for both liquid and hot mix asphalt.

An Auburn University graduate with a B.S. in Civil Engineering, Tyler brings valuable technical experience and a strong background in transportation materials to the HMB team. Outside of work, you can find Tyler hunting, golfing, and suffering through Auburn sports.

We’re glad to have you on the team, Tyler. Welcome to HMB!

The Kentucky Highway Division hosted another installment of HMB’s Road Ahead series, bringing the team together for an internal lunch and learn on a recent sidewalk gap study completed by our HSIP team for KYTC.

Stop by and see us this weekend at the Gaslight Festival! HMB and our Cultural Resources branch of archaeologists will once again be conducting a public excavation at our office, located at the Historic Conrad-Seaton House. All ages welcome to participate and see what you can dig up. Archaeologist Anne Bader will also be giving house tours where you can learn more about the history of the building and potter Valentine Conrad. Hope to see you there!

HMB’s Lindsay Walker and Lora Boller returned to their alma mater, the University of Kentucky, for the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Mixer to kick off the fall semester. We were proud and honored to sponsor the event and connect with students exploring their futures in engineering.

A special thanks to our intern Ashley Billiter for inviting us to participate. Lindsay and Lora had a great time meeting students, sharing their experiences, and supporting women in engineering!
