👨🏻🔧 TECH TIP: FROZEN LINES 👨🏻🔧 If your outdoor unit refrigeration lines are freezing up, it’s time to turn off your system and call your HVAC professional.
There are several things that can cause a system to freeze up. In cooling mode if the lines are frozen up on the outside of your home your indoor coil is most likely a block of ice.
To ensure your HVAC technician can troubleshoot all components of your HVAC system when he/she arrives we highly recommend leaving your system off so that it can thaw out. You can do this by turning the system mode to “off” and, if you have a fan setting, turning the fan to “on.”
Please be aware that when an indoor coil is thawing it could produce an excessive amount of water. During the thawing process, keep an eye on the area where your indoor coil is located so you are aware for any water overflow in the attic, mechanical closet or crawl space.
If your refrigeration lines are freezing up, we’d be happy to help and are just a phone call away.
