Winter weather like this can be beautiful but also tough on deck both composite and wood

A few quick tips for snow & ice on your deck:
❄️ Use a plastic shovel or broom to gently remove snow
🧊 Avoid rock salt or harsh de-icers that can damage decking and fasteners
❄️ Sand or pet-safe ice melt can help with traction if needed
🧊 Be careful, icy stairs and railings can be especially slick

Once things thaw out, it’s a good idea to take a closer look at your deck. Freeze-thaw cycles can sometimes reveal issues that weren’t obvious before.

If you’d like a licensed contractor to inspect the structural integrity of your deck after the weather clears, we’re always happy to help.
