In 1963, our company founder, Joe Charles Wilson, began work with the Tennessee Department of Transportation. During his tenure with TDOT, he also attended The University of Tennessee extension in Nashville and pursued his “semi-famous” rodeo career. After leaving TDOT in 1965, Charles continued surveying with private civil engineering firms until he formed Joe Charles Wilson Statewide Surveying i
n 1972. Our firm has been fortunate to have engaged many loyal and experienced employees throughout the years who bring invaluable construction experience to W&A, and professional surveyors and engineers. Based in Franklin, Tennessee, and with offices in Johnson City and Cookeville, Wilson & Associates now works on projects across Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, and Alabama. From the time when Charles Wilson first founded WA, the firm has expanded to become the largest construction surveying company in Tennessee. Following Charles’ and Cheryl’s retirement, Joey C Wilson II, PE, RLS (as President) and Justin Wilson (as Executive Vice President) continue to lead the firm in providing superior-quality services while staying ahead in their field with advanced technical innovations.
