One year ago today, we officially purchased the building that Electric Arc Solutions calls home.
At the time, we had already spent more than two and a half years renting this shop, working evenings, weekends, and whenever we could find the time, trying to turn an idea into something that could eventually become our full-time livelihood.
It seems fitting that exactly one year later, we’ve spent this past week preparing the unfinished portion of the building for a new roof and the next expansion of our shop floor.
Looking back, a lot has changed in a year.
We’ve taken on projects that challenged us, learned plenty of lessons the hard way, expanded our capabilities, met some great people, and built relationships with customers, vendors, contractors, and other local businesses that we truly value. Some opportunities have opened doors we never expected, and others have simply given us the chance to prove what we can do.
There have been long days, plenty of uncertainty, mistakes, problem solving, and a whole lot of figuring things out as we go. But there has also been steady progress.
None of this would have been possible without the people behind us. We’re incredibly fortunate to have friends and family who have supported and encouraged us from the beginning. Most importantly, we’re thankful for our wives, who believed in us and encouraged us to take the chance on this adventure. Starting a business affects a lot more than just the people whose names are on it, and their patience, sacrifice, encouragement, and belief in what we were trying to build have meant more than we can put into words.
We’re also extremely thankful for every customer who has trusted us with a project, every person who has recommended our name, and every business that has taken a chance on a small company and given us an opportunity to prove ourselves.
We still have a long way to go, and that’s probably the part we’re most excited about.
For now, we’re just grateful to look back at where we started, appreciate where we are today, and keep building toward what Electric Arc Solutions can become.
