5G Adoption: A Complex Journey, Not Just a Destination

Complications for military use of the electromagnetic spectrum will arise as more countries adopt and implement 5G technology. In this article by Dr. Thomas Withington for Janes - Jane’s International Defense Review, TCI International’s Kevin Davis and Misho Tkalcevic argue that the diversity of frequency allocations will pose a challenge for military planners worldwide. The key with 5G, according to TCI, is to understand who is doing what, when and how, as well as recognizing the potential for mesh networks and other technologies to be part of the solution.

TCI has delivered additional mobile equipment to Ukraine for use by its armed forces in ongoing security operations. The company modified 18 Toyota Land Cruisers, provided as government-furnished equipment, at its vehicle integration facility in Europe. The deliveries are part of U.S. security cooperation and assistance efforts, a group of programs by which the United States provides defense articles, military training, and other defense services to U.S. partner nations in support of U.S. national security objectives.

To TCI’s Customers, Students, Partners and Suppliers:

TCI International has been determined an “essential business” as a supplier of critical equipment for global telecom and government infrastructure applications. Therefore, TCI has reopened its manufacturing and customer support facility effective Wednesday, March 18, 2020. Many staff will continue to work from remote sites in support of the ongoing precautionary measures being taken by local and State governments to ensure the safety of our employees and the citizens of California in the face of the evolving threat from the COVID-19 virus.

In support of protecting the health of our USTTI students, USTTI Course 20-113 scheduled for May 11 – May 15, 2020 in Fremont, California will be rescheduled to a later date. TCI and USTTI will provide new dates once the timeline for resolution of the COVID-19 pandemic is clearer.
