This month, we're highlighting some of our employee-owners through the words of the coworkers who know them best.

For 27 years, Beckie Pierce has been taking care of TETER's people and making others feel at home. As our Director of First Impressions in Visalia, Beckie is often one of the first people clients and visitors meet, but her impact goes far beyond the front door. Standing sentry at more than 9,000 feet on Jordan Peak and 8,000 feet on Mule Peak, these new Fire Lookout Towers strengthen wildfire preparedness across the Sequoia National Forest and surrounding Tule River Indian Reservation.

Replacing wooden towers lost to wildfire, the new metal lookouts honor the original 1936 designs while incorporating modern technology and structural solutions for their remote locations.

Perched on a cliffside and remote rock outcropping, these towers provide critical early wildfire detection, monitor lightning strikes, and help protect lives, natural resources, and communities.

Special thanks to J.I. Garcia Construction for their partnership and collaboration in delivering this vital design-build project.

Up, up, and away!

When a remote mountain location left no space for construction laydown, the solution required taking construction to new heights.

With limited space to build on site, a tower was constructed in the valley and then transported to its final installation location by a CH-47 Chinook helicopter.

From the valley floor to a remote mountain peak, this was a construction lift of sky-high proportions.

Some of the best team building happens beyond the office.

TETER coworkers recently spent the day hiking to Mirror Lake in Yosemite National Park. Group hikes like this bring our team together throughout the year and culminate in an annual Half Dome hike for those seeking a little extra elevation.

This National Park Week, we’re grateful for the incredible parks in our backyard and the opportunities they give us to get outside, support one another, and Be Connected.
