The home in these photos had three layers of old roofing felt. When this happens, moisture can get trapped, nails struggle to fasten properly due to the excessive buildup, and over time, you’re left with rotted decking and even hidden mold in your attic.
Once we stripped off all the old felt, we performed a thorough inspection of both the decking and attic. Fortunately, no mold had developed yet, but we did find six areas with damaged decking. We carefully cut out and replaced the compromised sections, ensuring a solid foundation before installing the new roof system.
