Take control of your coiling operation.

AIM coilers, like this comprehensive AIM 2000 setup, combine modern coiling technology with an ecosystem of compatible accessories designed to work seamlessly together.

That means manufacturers can reduce their reliance on aging legacy systems while bringing more of the production process under one integrated platform.

Less dependence on yesterday’s equipment. More control over tomorrow’s production.

Coated wire? Coil away.

AIM coilers are capable of forming heating elements from pre-coated wire while keeping all critical coil dimensions and tolerances in check.

Whether the wire uses a ceramic, enamel, PTFE, or other specialized coating, adding a coating won't add complexity to your coiling operation.

Ready, AIM, fire. 🎯

The AIM 100 is sending soft-wire solder rings down the line in rapid-fire succession.

Solder rings are widely used as precision preforms in electronics manufacturing, including printed circuit board assembly and related soldering operations.

Working with soft, delicate wire presents its own challenges. Feed pressure, tooling geometry, and wire guidance must be carefully controlled to avoid marking or deforming the material while maintaining consistent dimensions at production speed.

With in-house tooling design and fully programmable motion, AIM systems can produce:

✔️ Closed solder rings
✔️ U-shaped forms
✔️ Straight-cut sections
✔️ Custom geometries

The AIM 100 combines high-speed production with the control required to form delicate wire accurately and repeatably.

Coiling is only one step in producing a finished spring.

This custom system, built around the AIM 2000, carries newly formed springs directly into an integrated oven for stress relief 🔥, followed by a cooling conveyor that prepares the heat-treated parts for immediate handling and the next production step ❄️.

Stress relief reduces the residual stresses introduced during coiling, helping stabilize spring geometry and ensure the finished part meets its specified performance requirements.

But this capability isn’t limited to the AIM 2000.

Across our entire coiler range, AIM can engineer custom stress-relief solutions around the needs of the part and production process, including:

✔️ In-line heat-treatment ovens
✔️ Resistive heat treatment
✔️ Controlled time and temperature parameters
✔️ Integrated cooling conveyors
✔️ Automated transfer to downstream operations

What you get with AIM is a more continuous process designed to maximize quality, speed, and efficiency—from raw wire to assembly-ready springs.

In a recent video, we highlighted one of our highly customizable end-to-end coiling systems—capable of producing 12 different compression spring configurations and carrying them through heat treatment, controlled cooling, and robotic insertion: https://loom.ly/JF1zT2c

That AIM 2000 system is impressive—but our custom coiling capabilities extend far beyond a single machine.

AIM’s range of coiling machines can handle wire diameters from as small as 0.006″ to nearly 3/4″, providing a platform for applications ranging from extremely fine wire components to heavy-duty industrial coils.

Each custom solution begins with the right core coiler. From there, we can integrate:

✔️ Cassette tooling for efficient changeovers
✔️ Part handling and transfer equipment
✔️ Heat-treatment ovens and controlled cooling
✔️ Cutting and forming equipment
✔️ Robotic pick-and-place automation
✔️ Additional downstream processes

One complete coiling solution engineered around your application.

12 different spring configurations in a single coiling system? ✅

Built around the AIM 2000 CNC spring coiler, this turnkey coiling system is configured to produce a dozen types of compression springs, each with different wire diameters and spring forces.

How?
✔️ Cassette tooling helps simplify changeover between configurations
✔️ While downstream equipment carries the process beyond coiling

This particular system is fitted with several of our custom equipment add-ons, including:

🛝 Part chute
🔥 Heat treatment oven ❄️ with controlled cooling system for immediate handling
🦾 Automated coil insertion through robotic pick-and-place integration

Air-core inductors don't rely on an iron or ferrite core—the coil's shape and geometry do the work instead.

That places even greater importance on producing accurate, repeatable coil geometry.

Consistent diameter, pitch, and spacing are critical to producing coils with predictable electrical performance.

For an antenna coil, precision in dimensional tolerances is a performance requirement.

Small variations in diameter, pitch, or wire length can alter the coil's electrical properties, affecting how efficiently a device transmits or receives signals.

Producing high-quality antenna coils means controlling geometry with the same precision that engineers apply to circuit design.

Here we see our AIM 100 CNC 6-axis spring and wire forming machine manufacturing antenna coils with precision.

Every wire behaves differently when it meets a cutter.

✔️ High-carbon music wire
✔️ Hard-drawn wire
✔️ Oil-tempered wire
✔️ Stainless steel wire
✔️ Chrome silicon wire...

Each has different hardness, ductility, and springback characteristics that influence cutting performance and tool life.

Selecting the right cutter material and geometry is critical for consistent, repeatable production.
