As the saying goes, "All great things must eventually come to an end" and so it is with much gratitude that we announce the upcoming retirement of Mark Dunlap at the end of June. Mark has spent his 43-year career providing expert structural design, consulting services, mentorship and guidance to so many in the AEC industry. Mark's legacy is unmatched and I'm sure many of you have likely been in the thousands of buildings Mark has designed over the years. We will miss his determination to get things right, expertise in engineering and construction methods, uncanny memory, positivity and leadership. Congratulations on an amazing career Mark. Thank you.

Brian is celebrating 30 years in the engineering field this month!
From Brian, "I remember vividly visiting project sites speaking with these grizzled, older, wiser, and very tough contractors who would trying to intimidate me and say 'look kid you may be an engineer, but I've been doing this for 30 years'.
I've always considered that and listened very carefully. And now, here I am 30 years in the business! It's certainly a different world and construction sites are MUCH different than they were 30 years ago. But what hasn't changed is the commitment of our industry to providing safe, useful, wonderful buildings for the public to utilize. I still love what I do, particularly collaborating with our clients and teammates. 30 more? Who knows? 😊

On Tuesday, we attended the ribbon-cutting for this purpose-built office building for the Prince Georges County that we provided base building AND interiors structural engineering design. The finished product was a long time in coming starting in 2017. We are grateful to for having us on their team, developer Velocity and base building contractor Manekin Construction for expertly executing the design.

From Nashville to cities across the country, Tarantino Engineering Consultants has helped bring large-scale public art to life—merging structural precision with artistic vision.
One of our latest contributions is Loqui, (Artist: Blessing Hancock) a striking three-story installation that features the words of over 400 Nashville residents, ages 5 to 85. Its unique curving form required a custom network of I-shaped beams, carefully engineered so the web could follow the curve and the flanges could support the skin on both sides.
Projects like Loqui highlight how we collaborate with artists to solve complex structural challenges—without compromising creativity.
