Hello everyone.
For 2025 Griffin Heating and Air Service will be offering Monday-Friday service only. (Sorry, No weekends or late night after hours). This change is being implemented so I can have needed quality family time.
I have suggestions to get you by if your system is down..
1st. For winter I suggest to everyone that you need to have a backup heater (I suggest several), 1 for the bedroom , 1 for living room and 1 in the kitchen. **Do not plug them into drop cords as some cords cannot handle the amperage and can melt and start a fire.** So plug them directly into a wall. The "radiator" style electric heaters actually do a great job warming rooms.
2nd. For summer I suggest have a windows unit or 2+. (I have 2 for my home for emergencies, a 5000 btu and a 6000 btu) This is also a good thing to have if we have a power outage from a major storm or hurricane as these can be run on a generator. A 5000 btu will generally cool a bedroom, a 6000 will cool a living room, a 8000 will cool a living room and dining room. A 10000 will cool living room dining room and kitchen. (Basically 1/2 of a 1 story home). A 12000btu which is pretty much the largest 110v a/c will almost max out the amperage on a plug but will do a good job cooling most of your general living area.
Another option is a roll around portable air unit that has a duct that fits at the bottom of a windows. It cost a bit more but Its easier to set up vs a window unit. These can be sourced used at fall yard sales or marketplace in good condition for very little $$.
Thank you and please be prepared.
