The Valo Hyperfoil is an all-electric hydrofoiling vehicle that flies above the water. It has an active stability system called Skyride that provides precise balance and agility. The styling of Valo draws inspiration from sport bikes, EVs, and personal watercraft, portraying its underlying performance, state-of-the-art efficiency, and craftsmanship.

The team at Zukun is passionate about new tech and we are honored to have had the opportunity to work with the staff at Boundary Layer Technologies to help bring Valo to life. If your Fortune 500 company or small start-up is trying to change an industry paradigm and in need of product design that reflects that type of thinking, but at the same time doesn't want to alienate your customer, we would love to help.

One of our favorite designs among the Hoover lineup, the Evolve Pet Elite champions good design practices in both function and aesthetics. The vision has roots in the Hoover legacy while the ex*****on is pioneering the brand’s future.

Zukun worked closely with the Industrial design leadership at Hoover to brainstorm, develop, refine and then implement their new VBL (Visual Brand Language) across a broad range of products. The Evolve Pet Elite embodies this effort and is a benchmark for their ONEPWR battery line.

We’re excited to see the recent launch of the Haag-Streit Surgical Chair 900. It was developed in partnership with Reliance Medical Products and Doctors Michael E. Snyder, MD, and Anup K. Khatana, MD, both of Cincinnati Eye Institute. With unique insights into the daily ergonomic issues common to ophthalmologists, the surgical chair helps to maximize comfort and align the operator’s spine for added lumbar support. Zukun conceived the industrial design and provided engineering support for the project.

The armless design and narrow seat back permit freedom of movement while reducing risk of contamination. The single-piece base makes thorough cleaning easy, and improves stability with a unique castor lock design. Conveniently placed pedals allow the seat and back to be smoothly adjusted to precise positions without the surgeon needing to take hands or eyes off their work.

The resulting design (Red Dot Design Award winner) is a more comfortable and functional chair that can potentially prolong the careers of ophthalmic surgeons.

Garrett Leather reached out to Zukun for developing a series of rendered scenes to showcase its Mira collection: a family of expressive, self-healing, olive-tanned leathers.

The rendered scenes include an intimate villa, luxury restaurant, corporate meeting room, and restorative den. All scenes showcase various colors from the Mira collection in unique settings and applications, including furniture and wall panels. The renderings emphasize the natural resilience of the leather through biophilic design for a strong connection to nature, supporting an uplifting, mood-boosting, and luxurious atmosphere.

These images serve as a valuable source of inspiration for architects and interior designers interested in collaborating with Garrett Leather.

Zukun proudly helped Bridgestone and Firestone AirRide showcase their new "Connected Corner" in this BEV chassis display shown at CES 2023.

The "Connected Corner" showcases Bridgestone tires specifically designed for large EVs. These tires feature the latest sensing technologies capable of monitoring multiple data points in real-time while driving.

Firestone's new AirRide springs offer highly rapid and precise response to what is happening on the road. This combination has significant handling, comfort, and tire longevity benefits.

Zukun helped Bridgestone and Firestone Mobility Solution teams bring this vision to life, and coordinated with a network of resources to build the BEV chassis, integrate it into the CES display, and synchronize the chassis effects with the onscreen stories.

Please contact Zukun Plan for support with design, prototyping, or 3D printing on your next display or product!

We love finding excitement in the details. For Asco control valves, reliability and performance are paramount. Continuing to build their brand reputation, Asco engaged with Zukun on a complete design language investigation for their family of products. The Series 158/159 gas shut-off valve & actuator are a realization of that effort, with design language considerations integrated throughout. The resulting products have the highest flow/heat output ratings in the industry, and weigh up to 25% less than competitors.

What are the different uses for rendering in design? How do you approach rendering a product? How can you use lighting to highlight important aspects of a design?

We had the opportunity to share about our design process and rendering philosophy with design students at yesterday. It’s always encouraging to connect and share with young designers–their enthusiasm for learning is contagious!

We often use rendering as a tool to communicate with clients and consumers, and the goals of the renderings change as we move through the design process. We never stop asking the questions, “Who is this for, and what do they care about?”
