This , we're spotlighting magnetic particle imaging research from the Rinaldi-Ramos Research Lab! 🧲

Graduate student Aniela Nozka from the UF Department of Chemical Engineering explains how this work could help researchers track where drugs go in the body in real time.

At the UF Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering, the team uses iron oxide tracers and flash nanoprecipitation to visualize therapies as they move through the body. This approach could help clinicians better understand drug delivery and personalize treatment dosing for patients.

How can satellite imagery help identify which beaches are safe for vehicles? 🌊

This , we're highlighting University of Florida research using high-resolution satellite imagery to assess vehicle trafficability on sandy beaches with complex topography.

Sponsored by the Office of Naval Research, the UF Center for Coastal Solutions project explores applications for military and naval landings, evacuation route planning, and improving public awareness of which beach areas are safe and accessible for vehicles.

UF Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering graduate student Stephen Adusei explains how this research can help determine optimal vehicle routes and guide planning efforts.

This , we're spotlighting University of Florida research that developed an AI-powered tool for early detection and severity prediction of knee osteoarthritis (OA)! βš•οΈ

The system allows users to upload an existing X-ray image, which is then analyzed to determine whether knee osteoarthritis is present and, if so, its severity.

Gopal Manukonda explains how this UF Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering technology supports early diagnosis, helping identify the condition before symptoms become severe and enabling more timely care and management.

Welcome back to ! πŸš€

Today, Dr. Piyush Jain joins Dr. Jackson Streeter in the elevator to pitch CasNx, a company developing CRISPR-based technologies to treat and improve organs outside the body before transplant.

CasNx is taking on one of healthcare's biggest challenges: organ scarcity. Using CRISPR-based technology, the team works to remove viruses, reduce incompatibility, and help organs last longer.

As a UF Innovate Accelerate client based at Sid Martin Biotech, CasNx is advancing this work within the innovation ecosystem. The team is also driving research through the Jain Lab at the University of Florida, with support from the UF Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering and the UF Department of Chemical Engineering.

The graduation celebrations continue! We’re shining a spotlight on another one of our standout interns as they prepare to take their next professional leap. πŸŽ“πŸŠ

Evan joined UF Innovate in the fall of 2025 as a marketing and patent research intern. He’s made a significant impact by leveraging his analytical mindset to evaluate emerging technologies and support our commercialization efforts.

After earning his bachelor's degrees in computer science and economics from the UF College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Evan is headed to Chicago to begin a career in consulting with Ernst & Young! While he's excited for the move, he’ll certainly miss his routine of running down the Hawthorne Trail. πŸƒ

Evan shared that his favorite part of the internship was seeing his writing skills evolve over the past year. Having the opportunity to translate complex technical data into compelling narratives has been a rewarding highlight of his time with the team.

We’re incredibly excited to see the impact he'll make in the consulting world. Evan's sharp focus and growth during his time here have been a joy to witness, and he leaves big shoes to fill. Cheers to your next chapter, Evan! πŸŽ‰

Another Gator is getting ready for their next big chapter! πŸŽ“πŸŠ

Nathan joined UF Innovate in Fall 2024 as a marketing and patent intern, supporting University of Florida by drafting non-confidential summaries and conducting prior art searches to attract licensees and assess a project's patentability.

Graduating with a B.S. in physics, Nathan heads to The University of Chicago for law schoolβ€”an exciting next step in his academic journey! βš–οΈ

Nathan shared that his favorite part of UF Innovate was the people, highlighting the supportive and knowledgeable team that had a lasting impact on his experience.

He’ll miss cheering on the Gators at sporting events the most, but we know big things are ahead.

We can’t wait to see all he accomplishes next. Congratulations, Nathan! πŸŽ‰

Admins, thank you for everything you do for UF Innovate! πŸ’™

The UF Innovate ecosystem would not move efficiently without our admins. This morning was a celebration of the incredible people on the team who keep everything running smoothly. A few people are missing from the photos, but every single admin plays a vital role.

Everything works better because of the care, organization, and effort brought every single day. It truly takes a team, and we have the best!

Breakfast from Zen Creative Catering made the celebration even better. πŸ˜‹
