Presented by UF Engineering School of Sustainable Infrastructure & Environment- ESSIE graduate student Faizur Ruhman, this research examines whether pedestrian-safety outreach materials and events are actually reaching the communities that need them most.

The UF Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering research goes beyond traditional "before and after" studies. With pedestrian crashes increasing across the state, the findings could help improve outreach efforts, raise public awareness, and inform future safety policies.

Highlighted by UF Department of Chemical Engineering graduate student Thomas Corbin, this research explores how fluid motion can be used to manage heat in microgravity environments.

Researchers in the UF Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering are studying how vertically shaking passive fluids can remove heat from electronics and life-support systems without relying on costly mechanical components prone to failure. The long-term vision includes applications for satellites, future space stations, and even lunar habitats!

Graduate student Aniela Nozka from the UF Department of Chemical Engineering explains how this work could help researchers track where drugs go in the body in real time.
