Fortunately this doesn't happen very often, but when it does, it's a pain.

The Problem? Powder Sagging.

Powder Sagging occurs when too much Powder has been applied to the surface, this causes the powder to "sag" under its own weight during the curing process.

Great news - the fix is easy. Make sure you apply the powder to the correct film thickness - check your TDS or talk to your powder supplier if you're not sure (and remember different formulations may have different DFT).

Easy to fix, and easy to avoid in the future!

Sometimes, a little extra protection goes a long way.

Talking to customers about extra protection for steel this week, and they were happy to learn IFS zinc-rich primers add another layer of corrosion protection for steel substrates, while creating a smooth, reliable base for the powder topcoat to adhere to.

This is pretty cool!
These clever powder coatings were a perfect match, because when every design detail matters, even the transition between materials has to be flawless.

For the Berkeley riverfront streetcar project, a custom stainless steel color match from IFS Coatings helped powder-coated poles blend seamlessly with adjacent stainless steel surfaces—creating a clean, continuous look that designers envisioned from the start.

The finished result is impressive both day and night, combining architectural beauty, durability, and performance.
