This is a prime example as to why it is best to use dryer vent materials that fall under the Georgia state code. Flex piping is solely used for the transition from the back of the dryer to hard piping. Running flex pipe through your house, especially behind walls can be very dangerous. The material is not made to handle the heat of your dryer. This can lead to cracks and breaks that will spew out lint in the house which is a major fire hazard, not to mention contaminating the air you breathe. Using sheet metal piping not only contains the lint, the smooth surfaces allow for better air flow and help with heat management. Proper dryer vent runs are better for regular maintenance and can help extend the life of your dryer. If you have questions or concerns about your dryer vent please feel free to reach out to me at (678)316-4450. I would also like to thank Joel Carmichael for his work, professionalism, and attention to detail on the drywall repair.

Did you know that leaving a gap in the exhausts' door can lead to a build up of moisture inside the dryer duct? Poor maintenance and cheep covers can allow moisture to accumulate throughout causing certain sections of the exhaust run to clog up with lint quicker than normal. This can dampen the air flow and cause potential damage to the dryer. Dryers not only exhaust the lint through the but the heat and moisture as well. If heat is redirected back to the dryer one of three scenarios might come to pass: 1. The sensor in the dryer will detect a spike in temperature and cause the heating elements to drop to a lower temperature or shut off completely leading to damp clothes after a full cycle. 2. Older dryers don't have the technology to detect the temperature spike and could cause the heating element to burn out completely. 3. The heating element could ignite the lint in the dryer causing a dryer fire. On top of all of this a build up of moisture in the vent can cause leaks along the run leading to damage to surrounding walls, celling, and floors.

We are new as a company but have many years experience in the dryer vent cleaning industry. These images are from a job in . Upon inspection we realized that not one part of this run was up to code. After discussing the issue with the homeowner we decided that the best course of action was to do a complete change out. We ran Sheetmetal through the celling and replace the twine with some Sheetmetal strapping. We then connected this to a new exterior cap designed to keep pest out while allowing for proper air flow. Lastly a cage was installed to allow the lint to properly pass through while keeping bigger critters at out. Please feel free to reach out with any questions
