The Sustainable Business Center (SBC) is a business incubator designed to accelerate the successful development of green, innovative companies through an array of business support resources and services offered both in the incubator and through its network of contacts. For entrepreneurs who embrace sustainable business practices, the SBC serves as a place for the development of new sustainable bus
inesses. We provide innovators with support services and resources to assist them with this launch. We offer not only mentoring and education, but give them a place for collaboration and the exchange of ideas. The Sustainable Business Center has been created to capture the following synergies in one place: renewable energies, energy efficiencies, conservation, and local food. We encourage and embrace the practices and principles built around a triple bottom line business model. Also known as the three "P's," this philosophy means that people, planet, and profit are all equally important to a successful business. It is our mission to bring jobs to the Galesburg area by nurturing and growing businesses that represent green technology in its purest form. The Sustainable Business Center wants to bring local food that is wholesome and pesticide-free back into the community through the establishment of a community kitchen and small cafe. Our goals are to join the many forward thinkers in the Galesburg area to find ways to help rebuild the local economy, to create an incubator or a place where ideas can become successful businesses, to support sustainable efforts already taking place, to encourage clean energy, and to be as truly green and values driven as we can throughout.
