John Plaisance (Coastal Design & Infrastructure—Director of Operations) was recently appointed by Governor John Bel Edwards to the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board (LAPELS).

The governor was honored for his willingness to serve the State of Louisiana and also stated that he is confident in him executing his duties with honor and integrity during the 6 year term. Congratulations, John for being appointed to the LAPELS board and given the honor of serving Louisiana! Leadership members from our Coastal & Infrastructure division participated in the BIG Buddy in Business Program which allowed high school students from various schools to shadow our team members for the day and learn about the ins and outs of our operations.

Ben Malbrough (Coastal Design and Infrastructure VP) is the President of the Bayou Industrial Group (BIG) which put on this program. BIG partnered with the Lafourche Parish School System and had 45 students participate in the program from Thibodaux High, Central Lafourche, and South Lafourche High Schools. GIS Engineering hosted and mentored 9 of these students. We look forward to continuing to advance and educate our future workforce and young leaders within our community.
