🚜 FROM OVERGROWN TO COMPLETELY TRANSFORMED 🚜

This video shows the entire journey—from the condition of the property before we started, through the land-clearing and pond-rehabilitation process, all the way to the finished product.

On this project, we:

✅ Precisely cleared approximately five acres for a future horse pasture
✅ Paid extra attention to removing trees, stumps, limbs, and surface debris to help create a safer environment for the horses
✅ Cleaned and opened the property while taking care to leave a clean, usable finished area
✅ Cleaned out and reshaped the existing pond
✅ Prepared the pond basin for proper sealing
✅ Installed, moisture-conditioned, and compacted a new clay liner
✅ Finished the surrounding grades and cleaned up the work areas

Clearing land for horses requires more than simply knocking down trees. We took additional care throughout the clearing and cleanup process to minimize potential hazards and prepare the property with the horses’ safety and well-being in mind.

This major transformation required the right equipment, experienced operators, careful planning, and a lot of long days in the seat.

Jae’s Dirt Work & Land Clearing LLC and Dirt Work Innovations came together to make it happen. Two companies working toward one goal: delivering a finished project that looks right, functions correctly, and is built to last.

The finished pictures tell part of the story—but this video shows the work, equipment, coordination, and attention to detail required to get there.

If you have an overgrown property, acreage that needs prepared for livestock or horses, a pond that needs cleaned out or repaired, or another major dirt-work project, give us a call.

Before and after of a complete pond cleanout and compacted clay-liner installation in Choctaw, Oklahoma.

We cleaned out the pond, removed the unsuitable material, reshaped and prepared the basin, then installed a compacted clay liner. The clay was placed in controlled lifts, moisture-conditioned, and thoroughly compacted to improve the pond’s ability to retain water.

Pond repair is about more than moving dirt—the proper material, moisture content, lift thickness, and compaction all matter.

If your pond is leaking, losing water, or filled with years of accumulated muck, contact Jae’s Dirt Work & Land Clearing LLC to discuss the right repair plan for your property.

Some ponds don’t leak because they need more bentonite. They leak because the real problem was never found.

This pond is a perfect example.

The original pond was built on solid rock, and the dam was constructed using select sandy material that works well for building pads and roads—but not for holding water.

After that, another contractor attempted to fix it by adding 20,000 pounds of bentonite.

Unfortunately, it still leaked.

Why?

Because no one stopped to identify the actual cause of the problem.

Instead of guessing, we investigated.

We traced the leak, confirmed water was traveling through the sandy dam material and along the rock beneath it, and built a solution around what the site actually needed.

✅ Installed a properly constructed clay liner.
✅ Incorporated bentonite into the liner for additional sealing.
✅ Rebuilt the pond with the goal of creating a long-lasting solution—not just a temporary fix.

The homeowner had already invested in a beautiful gazebo and wanted a pond his family could actually enjoy. He deserved a repair that addressed the root cause, not another attempt that hoped for the best.

The pond is filling now, and we’ll be back later this week to share photos once it’s full.

A huge thank you to Jae’s Dirt Work & Land Clearing LLC for another opportunity to work together. Partnerships like this are what make difficult projects successful.

Two companies. One standard. Do it right.

Because at the end of the day, our job isn’t just moving dirt—it’s solving problems the right way the first time.

🚧 BEFORE ➡️ AFTER | Drainage Problem Solved! 💪

This homeowner was tired of dealing with standing water every time it rained. Water was collecting in the yard, backing up onto the driveway, and creating a constant drainage problem.

They gave us a call, and we got to work.

✅ Regraded the yard for proper drainage
✅ Corrected the low spots that were trapping water
✅ Created positive flow away from the home and driveway
✅ Left the property smooth and ready for grass

A lot of people think water problems will fix themselves—they won’t. Water always finds the lowest point, and if your yard isn’t graded correctly, it can lead to standing water, muddy areas, foundation concerns, and driveway damage.

That’s where we come in.

If your property isn’t draining the way it should, let the professionals at Jae’s Dirt Work & Land Clearing LLC take care of it the right way the first time.

Our customer knew this pond had been leaking for years. From the surface, it looked like a normal pond. But once we started excavating, we found the real problem.

The original dam had been constructed over solid rock.

Water doesn’t care how good a pond looks. It follows the path of least resistance, and in this case it was traveling beneath the dam through the rock. A traditional core trench alone wasn’t going to solve the problem.

So instead of forcing a repair we didn’t believe in, we changed the plan.

We installed a properly compacted clay liner throughout the pond to create a continuous seal and give this pond the best opportunity to hold water for decades—not just until the next heavy rain or dry spell.

Could we have offered a cheaper repair? Absolutely.

Would it have been the right repair? No.

At Jae’s Dirt Work & Land Clearing, we don’t build ponds to get by—we build them to last.

A successful pond isn’t just about moving dirt. It’s about understanding soils, geology, drainage, compaction, and knowing when the original plan needs to change.

That’s why we perform test holes, evaluate every site individually, and explain every option before the work begins.

Our goal isn’t to be the cheapest contractor.

Our goal is to give our customers a pond they can enjoy for generations.

If you’re dealing with a leaking pond, a failing dam, or you’re planning to build a new pond, we’d be happy to take a look.

From an Overgrown Pond to a One-of-a-Kind Backyard Water Feature

Some projects are more than excavation—they’re complete transformations.

When we first arrived, this property featured an old pond that had become overgrown, filled with years of accumulated muck, and was nearly impossible to enjoy. Heavy vegetation had taken over the shoreline, and you couldn’t even walk around the back side of the pond.

The goal wasn’t just to clean it up. The goal was to completely reimagine the space and create something the property owners could enjoy for years to come.

Phase 1 – Restoring the Existing Pond

We started by bringing the original pond back to life.

✔ Cleared heavy brush and overgrowth surrounding the pond.

✔ Built a new walking trail around the back side of the pond, opening up areas that had been inaccessible for years.

✔ Removed years of accumulated muck and sediment to restore the pond’s depth and improve its overall health.

Once the existing pond was restored, it was time to begin the next phase.

Phase 2 – Building a Custom Water Feature

We constructed a 40-foot-long, 6-foot-tall custom limestone dam using premium limestone boulders sourced from Texas, creating a brand-new upper pond above the existing pond.

The centerpiece of the project is an 8-foot-tall custom waterfall featuring an 11-foot-6-inch spillway, handcrafted from the same limestone. Every boulder was carefully placed to create a natural appearance while providing the strength and durability needed for long-term performance.

To bring the entire system to life, we installed a continuous water recirculation system, using a pump that draws water from the lower pond and discharges it into the upper pond. This allows water to flow over the custom limestone dam and waterfall continuously, creating the sights and sounds of moving water while recirculating it back into the lower pond.

Above the waterfall, we also built a custom limestone overlook patio, giving the homeowners a place to relax and enjoy the peaceful view and sound of the waterfall.

Finishing Touches

After construction was complete, we performed the final grading of the entire project before seeding and installing erosion-control straw matting across approximately 36,000 square feet to establish vegetation and protect the newly finished slopes.

The end result is a property that has been completely transformed—from a neglected, overgrown pond into a beautiful outdoor retreat featuring two connected ponds, a custom limestone dam, a handcrafted waterfall, a continuous recirculating water system, scenic walking trails, and a limestone overlook designed to be enjoyed for many years to come.

Projects like this don’t happen overnight. They require planning, experience, the right equipment, and attention to detail from start to finish. From excavation and pond restoration to custom stone placement, pump installation, grading, erosion control, and final landscaping, every phase of this project was completed with long-term performance and quality in mind.

We’re incredibly proud of what our team accomplished, and we appreciate the opportunity to bring this vision to life.

If your pond won’t hold water… this is why.

Pond Rebuild & Sealing Project – Done Right

This one was all about doing it the right way, not the easy way.

We took this pond down and dug it approximately 5.5 feet deeper, reshaping the basin to improve water retention and overall function. On top of that, we excavated quality clay on-site, hauled it into the pond, and installed it at an average thickness of 12 inches to build a proper sealing base.

Once that clay liner was placed:
✔️ Moisture conditioned
✔️ Compacted thoroughly in multiple lifts

We then applied 28,000 lbs of bentonite clay across the pond bottom and key areas:
✔️ Evenly distributed for full coverage
✔️ Worked into the soil
✔️ Compacted again multiple times to lock everything in

This is a layered sealing system — not just bentonite thrown on top, but a properly built clay base plus bentonite for long-term water retention.

There’s a big difference between a pond that “might hold water” and one that’s built to last.

BBB-recognized and trusted across Northwest Oklahoma, we take pride in doing quality work and standing behind every job.

If your pond leaks or you’re planning a new build, we can make sure it’s done right the first time.
