There’s a new effort taking shape in our region focused on something we don’t always talk about enough in agriculture—mental health.
Soil & Soul: Growing the Good Life is bringing together ag professionals, community partners, and producers to strengthen support for farmers and ranchers facing real pressures—volatile markets, long hours, financial stress, and isolation.
👉 July 31 (Hutchinson) – A half-day gathering designed for those on the “front line” of agriculture—co-op employees, agronomists, lenders, and anyone who works directly with producers. The goal is simple: better understand available resources, identify gaps, and talk through how we can better support the people we serve.
👉 November 14 – A larger, all-day event for the ag community, featuring speaker Mark Mayfield, along with discussions and practical tools to continue the conversation.
This effort is about building stronger support systems—not just for the land, but for the people behind it.
✅ Free to attend (with lunch provided)
✅ Open to ag professionals and community members
✅ Sponsorship opportunities available for those who want to help support the mission
If you’re in agriculture—or work with those who are—this is a meaningful way to get involved and make a difference.
