I'd be careful about selecting HVAC contractors to work on your systems.
Followed up another well known local company, who instead of doing the thorough investigative work and correcting the problem, decided to just throw in a high limit switch well above the safety parameters for the furnace.
This safety switch disables the furnace in case of extremely high heat temperatures.
This could cause a fire or explosion and ultimately kill or maim the inhabitants of the structure.
What the owner of the company did is the equivalent of having a 15 amp electrical circuit continuously throw the breaker. Instead of fixing the issue, he basically put a 30amp breaker in its place. Which would negate the safety switch and start a fire.
Nobody is perfect and mistakes can be made, however deliberately overriding the safety features because one cannot or will not take the time to thoroughly investigate the problem is careless. It is not only unacceptable but extremely dangerous.
At Hutton Mechanical Co., a Father and Son team, we promise to always put the customers safety, satisfaction, and needs ahead of our own ego. We will never compromise your safety or longevity of equipment in order to "just get it going" complete the service call and run out of there.
We fixed the problem after testing all aspects of the equipment.
Made several adjustments, replaced the oversized safety switch, monitored and took measurements and readings of input and output of gas, air, delta-t reading behind firewall, return air and supply after the coil as well as fuel pressures.
While we are 100% confident we have fixed the problem, the furnace ran too hot for a week and most likely shortened the life expectancy of the quality equipment.
To our valued customers, present and future, please be safe out there.
Thank you
