💧 When you water a forklift battery matters.

For lead-acid batteries, proper watering isn't just about keeping electrolyte levels where they should be. Timing and technique matter, too.

Our step-by-step guide covers the basics of safe, proper forklift battery watering—including when to add water, what to check and common mistakes to avoid.

And if you'd rather take battery maintenance off your team's list, M-Pulse can handle that, too.

Automation Doesn’t Have to Mean Starting Over.

AMRs can bring automation into an existing warehouse without requiring a complete redesign of your operation.

✔️ Work within existing facilities and workflows
✔️ Reduce repetitive travel and manual movement
✔️ Scale as order volumes and needs change
✔️ Add automation where it can make the biggest impact

E-Distribution can help evaluate where AMRs make sense in your fulfillment operation and how they can work alongside your existing infrastructure.

An Equalize Charge Isn’t Just an Extra-Long Charge.

A standard charge restores energy to your lead-acid forklift battery. An equalize charge serves a different purpose: it provides a controlled overcharge designed to help bring individual cells back into balance.

Why does that matter? Over time, differences can develop between cells. Equalizing helps correct those differences so the battery can operate more consistently as a complete unit.

The key is doing it correctly—not simply charging longer. Follow the schedule and procedure recommended for your battery and charger.

A busy loading dock brings forklifts, pedestrians, trucks and freight together in a tight space.

A few fundamentals can improve the safety of your dock operation:

• Secure the trailer — truck restraints help prevent trailer creep and premature departure.
• Separate people and equipment — defined walkways, barriers and mirrors manage dock traffic.
• Make signals clear — dock lights and defined handoff procedures help drivers and forklift operators know when it’s safe to move.
• Plan for changing conditions — rain, ice and other seasonal hazards can change how people, trucks and equipment interact at the dock.
• Maintain the whole system — equipment, training and procedures all need consistent attention.

Routine maintenance can help catch wear and developing problems before they turn into an out-of-service forklift.

What should be on the checklist?

✔️ Tires & brakes
✔️ Forks, mast & chains
✔️ Battery & connections
✔️ Fluids
✔️ Electrical & electronic systems

And when something does go wrong, having a service plan in place can help get the truck back to work faster. Bitly

More pallet positions. The right amount of capacity.

When storage space gets tight, the goal is to make better use of the space you have. E-Distribution can help you find a pallet rack solution that adds capacity while working with your inventory, equipment and operation.

Need more room? Let’s take a look.

⚡ M-Pulse Power Tip

Don’t Judge a Battery by Charge Percentage Alone.

Your forklift battery shows a full charge—but it’s not making it through the shift like it used to. What gives?

A full charge doesn’t necessarily mean a battery is delivering the runtime it once did. Shorter runtime can point to battery condition, charging practices, connection issues or simply a battery that’s no longer well matched to the work being asked of it.

Pay attention to changes in runtime. They can tell you more about battery performance than the charge indicator alone.

More usable space may already be under your roof.

A customized mezzanine can turn unused vertical space into productive square footage for storage, picking, work areas and more—without expanding the building footprint.

But making that space useful takes more than adding a second level. The layout needs to work with your operation: where people and product need to move, what happens above and below the structure, and how the new space connects with the rest of the facility.

E-Distribution can help with the design, layout and installation to put that vertical space to work.
