⚖️From an ancient Egyptian method to modern-day precision, sieve analysis has been used for over 5,000 years to measure particle size distribution.
In our Process Plant Lab, Kaitlin and Joan use stacked sieves and mechanical shakers to grade silica sand by separating particles by size and calculating exact percentages retained on each screen. It’s detailed work that helps ensure consistent, high-quality products every day.
Fun fact: Our Lab Techs physically scrape and clean an average of 287 sieves every week to keep testing accurate and reliable.
