Myth: Pressure-sensitive tape needs heat, water, or a chemical reaction to create a strong bond.

Fact: Pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs) bond simply by applying pressure.

Unlike glues that require curing or activation, pressure-sensitive adhesives form an immediate bond when enough pressure is applied to create full contact with the surface. The more complete the surface contact, the better the adhesive can perform.

However, not all pressure-sensitive adhesives are created equal. The right adhesive depends on factors like:
- Surface energy and material type
- Temperature and environmental conditions

- Exposure to moisture, chemicals, or UV light
- Whether the bond is permanent or removable
