Our Story
Lake Tunnel Solar Village is a residential housing development featuring Net Zero homes, located in downtown Geneva NY, steps to Seneca Lake.
The area/site is known to most locals as the “lake tunnel” as a pedestrian tunnel passes under State Route 5&20 connecting walking and bike paths to the lake front.
The site is unique as it has direct access to the lake, but is also less just steps from the center of downtown Geneva with it’s bustling food and craft beverage scene.
In June 2017 it was announced that out of 120 applicants, the City of Geneva was awarded the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) $10M grant. Lake Tunnel Solar Village was 1 out of 10 projects approved as part of this grant and awarded $1.25M. Since then our dedicated team has been working diligently to make Geneva’s first solar village a reality. Homes in the Solar Village will be produced at the Solar Home Factory, which assembles the homes to strict quality and energy-use standards while providing living wage manufacturing jobs in Geneva, New York. Simple, carefree, sustainable living in the heart of the Finger Lakes.
