Project Spotlight: From Rot to Rock Solid!

Our team recently completed a full transformation—starting with the demolition of an old deck. Once everything was pulled out, we uncovered hidden rot, a partial cement patio, and old concrete pavers underneath.

Rather than build on a weak or unpredictable foundation, we tore everything out and started fresh. The result? A clean, solid concrete slab—the perfect base for the next phase of this screened-in porch addition.

The design was carefully thought through from day one. We took into account the layout, structural integrity, drainage, and long-term durability to make sure this space will not only look great but function flawlessly for years to come. Every detail was planned with purpose and precision.

Sneak peek of a design project underway in Gettysburg for Mark Austin Building! This client prefers a more traditional look, with a little flair here and there. 😎

Due to the color temperature of the light bulbs (2700 K Edison bulbs), the walls appear to be a warmer, yellowish tone in the image. The walls are actually Sherwin-Williams Repose Gray, and the cabinetry is SW They Call it Mellow.

There is a surprise pop of color on the tub surround. More pics coming soon!

🚨 🚨 Name Change! 🚨 🚨
Dear Followers, towards the end of last year, I decided to consolidate my PA and NC companies. Not for any reason other than my strong dislike for administrative work! For licensing reasons, I decided to keep my first company (NC based) rather than the one I formed in PA in 2022. While Facebook hasn't approved it yet, my company name will soon be updated to ALM Construction, LLC.

When Canelo wakes up tomorrow, it will officially be two years since he’s been at our shelter.

Two years since we saved him from the brink of death, but also two years now without a family.

As a staff and volunteer favorite, we just can’t comprehend this.

Yes, he would like to be the only pet, and yes, he doesn’t have the greatest kennel presence at times, but we promise Canelo is the sweetest, most gentle boy outside. He adores his people and is not hard to please. A soft patch of grass and a yummy snack is all it takes to keep him content.

Two years ago, Canelo fought his hardest to survive. And today, we will keep fighting to find his forever home.

Please ask about this sweet boy. And remember to never judge a dog by how they look in the kennel. You might just be surprised.

A recent design project... not quite complete... but close!

Many of the items used are family heirlooms or other items of sentimental value that the client already had and wanted to incorporate.

Some happy "accidents" occurred, such as stripping the paint from the mantel and revealing a perfectly complimentary natural wood finish (oiled)!
