Head gasket replacement on a 1996 Chevy 1500 with 350. Passenger side head gasket failed at the number 8 cylinder allowing coolant into the cylinder after the engine was off. Common signs and symptoms can include cooling system boiling over, white smoke from exhaust pipe after start up, misfire, and hydrolocked engine.

2013 vw jetty, 2.5 engine. Multiple codes for air and fuel issues with the engine that would sporadically come and go. This time, it had died 4 times. Checked codes and started with MAP sensor, and ruled the sensor functioning correctly. Further research revealed a possible issue with the PCV valve failing and letting small amounts of oil into the air intake, gumming up the throttle body and effecting the MAP sensor operation. Replaced the PCV valve after finding the diaphram torn and cleaned up the throttle body and MAP sensor. The vehicle is back to normal operations.

Investigating an engine rattle/power loss that sounded like it was under the passenger valve cover. Found plenty of sludge for an engine that was supposedly cleaned out, but no valve train damage was obvious. Also found brass on the dipstick. Signs of a bottom end issue, but that will be verified later.

Just a tip for anyone reading this. Vacuum leaks can severely effect your vehicles operation. Whether it is in the vacuum lines, at the throttle body, or at the intake manifold. Some of these leaks can show as a whistle or even a catalyst DTC.

Dirty throttle bodies can cause a mess of engine issues including misfires, rough idle, and engine stalling. It's good to clean them up as part of an engine tune up and may require a relearn of the throttle body. Call me and I can assist with that!

Upgraded a 2010 f150 rear axle from the factory limited slip to an Eaton Truetrac. Time consuming, but well worth it! New wheel bearings, ring gear, pinion, and axles.
