Recent U.S. energy data shows that electricity demand climbed in 2025, driven in part by the rapid growth of data centers and electrification across the economy. In fact, data center energy use and corporate clean energy agreements are playing a meaningful role in shaping power markets and investment patterns.

This shift highlights a broader trend: energy demand is rising at a time when reliable, low-carbon supply and carbon mitigation strategies are increasingly important. As technologies like AI and cloud computing expand, power markets must adapt, and durable carbon removal and low-carbon energy solutions are an important part of that transition.

At Cowboy Clean Fuels, we are focused on both sides of this equation: producing renewable natural gas while removing and storing carbon in a measurable and verifiable way. Solutions that support reliability and environmental outcomes will matter as energy demand continues to evolve.

Where to Find Cowboy This Spring!

We’re on the road this season showcasing Cowboy’s carbon removal and RNG technology—developed and deployed in Wyoming and now ready for expansion.

Catch us at these upcoming events:

➡️WEA’s Next Frontier Energy Summit — May 5–6 Laramie, WY (Bronze Sponsor)
➡️Energy Capital Economic Development Conference — May 7 Gillette, WY (Table Sponsor)
➡️Carbon Unbound East Coast — May 19–20 New York, NY

If you’ll be at any of these gatherings, we’d welcome the chance to connect and share how Wyoming‑born innovation is scaling into a new frontier of carbon removal and renewable natural gas.

More updates ahead as we continue expanding deployment and building carbon‑negative energy solutions.

A great evening in Gillette with our Operations team. Nights like this remind us that progress isn’t just about projects and milestones, it’s about the people who make them possible. The connection, collaboration, and shared commitment across this group drive our work forward every day.

We’re grateful for a team that brings skill, discipline, and heart to everything they do and makes it a privilege to work alongside them.

A new peer-reviewed article in the Chemical Engineering Journal is the first scientific publication to directly validate and describe our BiCRS+RNG technology—a major milestone as we scale deployment in the Powder River Basin. Co-authored by Cowboy Clean Fuels Co-Founder Michael Urynowicz, the paper highlights BiCRS+RNG as a commercially emerging pathway that produces renewable natural gas while permanently sequestering CO₂. This recognition from one of the highest-impact journals in the field reinforces the technical foundation behind our work and the market opportunity ahead.

In parallel, Cowboy’s Methods for Microbial Gas Production and Use as an Isotopic Tracer patent has been officially issued in Australia, further strengthening the IP foundation supporting this technology.

A second related paper on subsurface microbial performance is also now available:

Proud to see Wyoming-driven innovation gaining national attention as we continue advancing scalable, carbon-negative energy solutions.

Carbon Unbound West Coast was a great event, full of productive conversations and valuable connections across the carbon removal space!

It was great to share what’s happening on the ground, recent progress, and explore opportunities to advance meaningful projects together.

A big thank you to the organizers and everyone who stopped by to meet with our team in Vancouver! We’re looking forward to continuing the conversation at Carbon Unbound East Coast in the months ahead.

Cowboy Clean Fuels is heading to Carbon Unbound West Coast in Vancouver on January 22 and 23. CEO Ryan Waddington and VP of Markets Joe Kochanski will be there to meet with attendees and discuss our recent progress.

A limited number of 2024 vintage carbon credits are available for purchase, in addition to credits from 2025! These credits are generated through Cowboy’s Biomass Carbon Removal and Storage + Renewable Natural Gas (BiCRS+RNG) process, where organic feedstocks are injected into existing coal bed wells. The process produces RNG while permanently storing carbon dioxide underground, creating verified, durable carbon removal credits.

If you are interested in learning more or connecting about carbon removal opportunities, reach out to Joe and connect with our team at the event!

A major regulatory milestone for Cowboy Clean Fuels that meaningfully expands what is possible on the ground.

In December, our team received the final signed permit for the Triangle Unit, clearing the path to advance development of our Full Scale Facility and increase injection operations in early 2026.

This permit strengthens operational capability:
• Expands coverage to 27 Full Scale Wells, bringing the total permitted wells to 29
• Increases allowable injection pressures by 13 times, enabling more effective CO₂ placement for permanent storage
• Broadens approved feedstock sources, adding flexibility to long-term RNG production

Together, these approvals position the Triangle Unit for a transformative year ahead as we expand both carbon removal and renewable natural gas operations.

We appreciate the Wyoming DEQ’s collaboration throughout this permitting process!

2025 was a year of real progress for CCF. We advanced our first commercial project, secured key partnerships, and hit major regulatory milestones that strengthened our foundation.

From day one, we’ve built Cowboy around what the offtake market demands: durability and verifiable performance. In carbon removal and RNG, value only exists when outcomes are measurable, permanent, and transparent.

As we move into 2026, we’re focused on turning momentum into results—advancing injection operations, validating outcomes through rigorous monitoring, and building infrastructure engineered for long‑term performance and buyer confidence.
