Termites don’t play nice with framing 🐜🚫

On a recent job in Grinnell a wall was opened up and the homeowners found several 2x4s chewed from the inside out. We cut out the damaged studs after they were all treated, and installed solid new framing to keep the structure safe. 🔧🪚

Watch for: mud tubes, “sawdust” frass, blistered paint, soft or hollow-sounding wood 👀🪵 Catching it early can prevent sagging floors, stuck doors, and costly repairs. ✅

Back in the office after a much-needed family reset and here’s what I’ve learned:

• The inbox multiplied while I was gone 🙃
• “Just checking in” emails hit different after vacation 😅
• My brain is still somewhere between family mode and real-life responsibilities 🏖️🤪
• The laundry at home is still silently judging me 🧺
• Apparently, “reset” doesn’t mean life pauses… rude 😂
• Adulting came back way too fast 🤦🏼‍♀️

But the family time, the laughs, and the memories were exactly what we needed ❤️

Now it’s back to reality… one task at a time 💻✨

We couldn’t be happier for the homeowner! The old, fading wood siding that dated the home is being replaced with beautiful white exterior Portfolio siding accented by sleek black trim around the windows. ⚫⚪ What a transformation this will be!

This Melbourne home got a brand-new deck just a couple weeks ago, and now we were back to help the homeowner replace a few areas where squirrels had chewed and some spots where the cedar siding had started to rot. 🐿️🪵

With those repairs taken care of, the home is ready for a fresh coat of paint! 🎨✨

Did you know we also install egress windows? 🪟💪

Dawson, Ethan, and Matt were busy getting this Gilman home ready for its new egress window. Cutting into a foundation is a messy job, as you can see! 🧱 Once the opening was cut, the guys got it framed up, the window installed, and the well securely attached to the home. 👷‍♂️✅

Egress windows aren’t just a great way to bring in natural light, they’re also an important safety feature, providing an emergency exit from basements or lower-level spaces. 🚨 Every home with a finished basement should have one!

Big progress at the Holiday Lake addition! 🏡✨

Alliance windows are in all the new rooms, egress windows are set and installed, and interior framing is complete ✅
We’ve officially got a walk-through from the existing home to the new addition, it’s all coming together! 🙌

This week, siding and gutters are going up to finish off the exterior 👷‍♂️💪
Next up: drywall on the inside things are moving fast! 🚀
