As Women’s History Month comes to an end, we honor the women behind the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen.

While history often highlights the combat pilots, the women who supported the Tuskegee Airmen played a vital role—serving as administrators, nurses, mechanics, and supply pilots who broke barriers of both race and gender.

These pioneers helped pave the way, opening doors for future generations of women in aviation and STEM. We continue to celebrate their contributions and lasting impact.

AvDyne was honored to participate in a special Black History Month event hosted by American Airlines at Washington National Airport (DCA). Students from Jack and Jill of America, Inc. had the opportunity to learn about careers in aviation directly from Black professionals across the industry.

AvDyne leadership joined a distinguished panel that included a dynamic group of female pilots and aviation professionals, who shared their journeys, insights, and encouragement with students exploring future opportunities in aviation.

We are grateful to participate in events like this that provide access, inspiration, and real-world perspectives that empower young people to envision themselves in STEM and aviation careers.

Our CEO joined other inspiring Black leaders in aviation to speak on the “Black Leaders in Aviation: Past, Present & Future” panel hosted by Airbus in recognition of Black History Month. The event brought together aviation leaders across generations for meaningful conversation about leadership, mentorship, and the future of the industry.

It was a great opportunity to connect with fellow professionals and exchange insights across the aviation community. A huge thank you to Airbus and partners like Delta Air Lines, the OBAP - Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals, and East Coast Chapter Tuskegee Airmen, Inc (ECCTAI) for such an impactful event!"

Did you know?

Aviation pioneer Colonel John Charles Robinson, known as the “Brown Condor,” fought with Ethiopia’s Imperial Air Force during the Second Italian-Ethiopian War, becoming an international symbol of courage and skill.

Known as the Father of the Tuskegee Airmen, he helped launch aviation programs at the Tuskegee Institute, groundwork for what would become the legendary Tuskegee Airmen.

His legacy continues to inspire AvDyne to push boundaries and open doors for the next generation of aviation. ✈️

That legacy isn’t something we remember. It’s something we build.
