Flashback Friday – Project Highlights

The Union Hills Water Treatment Plant (WTP) is one of IPS's standout projects, showcasing our expertise in complex electrical and controls system upgrades. The project included the installation of approximately 3,600 linear feet of new electrical duct banks and conductors throughout the facility, along with the replacement of critical 5kV and 480V switchgear and Motor Control Centers (MCCs) serving the Raw Water Pump Station, Finished Water Pump Station, and Disinfection electrical buildings.

In addition to the power distribution improvements, IPS replaced (PLCs), installed new instrumentation, and led the site-wide programming, integration, testing, and startup efforts. These comprehensive upgrades enhanced system reliability, improved operational efficiency, strengthened safety, and positioned the plant for continued long-term performance.

IPS is replacing aging equipment and expanding systems to help support Arizona’s growing population — all while keeping operations running safely and effectively throughout construction. 👷‍♂️🔧
