Happy Fathers Day everyone! On this day I want to thank my dad, Steven Menzia, for always pushing me to be my very best. The skills I use today to bring my cleints qualtiy workmanship is a direct result of the skills I was taught by my dad and my grandfather, Paul Menzia. So thank you Dad for everything you have done for me and continue to do for me. I'm the man, the business owner, and tradesman I am today because of you. A major project is now complete. Unfortunately the clients' old garage was not salvageable due to a foundation issue. As such a new garage needed to be built. As part of this new construction project my clients also wanted a composite deck attached to the garage and a cedar pergola erected on the deck.

Getting clients ready for the summer. 2 new decks. The first deck was just a replank but with skirting added that concealed the rough sawn ends of each plank. This skirting also allowed my client to put concealed rope lighting around the deck for a beautiful effect at night.
The second deck was also a replank with some minor alterations to the structure to not only level it but also open up the front for more space and ease of shoveling during the winter.

This was a real quick turn around project. My client loved using their basement but was frustrated with how closed in and out of date it felt with the drop ceiling. They asked me what would be a viable solution....

Painting out the ceiling of course! This is my go to method anytime a client wants to make a basement feel more open. You get a lot of "bang for your buck" when you paint out your basement ceilings. In older homes basement clearances are already low. Drywalling over the basement ceiling or adding a drop ceiling makes that clearance even worse.

Sparaying out a ceiling makes a basement space feel more open and higher. If you have a home that was built before 1980 and want to make the space more welcoming a spray out is the way to go!
