Every worn component tells a story—and this flywheel clutch/brake assembly was well used and needed servicing. The bushing bores in the brake ears had severe wear, and other components of the clutch had worn as well.

We removed the clutch/brake assembly from this stamping press, installed a new clutch/brake assembly, installed new brake ears and bushings, replaced the flywheel bearings, addressed additional wear points, and reinstalled the assembly to get the press back in production.

This stainless steel shaft came in with a worn bearing fit that needed to be addressed.

We started by checking runout in the lathe, built the material back up with TIG welding, and brought it back to size with a clean, machined finish.
