Field update 🌱

Things are starting to poke through and the recent moisture has definitely helped with that. But with the good comes the bad — w**d pressure is starting to ramp up, too.

This week was the first time we’ve spotted waterhemp in the area, so now’s the time to stay ahead of it. Make sure you’re getting those residuals watered in 💪

Volunteer Corn Control Options:

After another dry winter, corn that didn’t make it into the combine is finding enough moisture to grow right alongside this year’s crop. Here are some key things to remember as we make decisions on controlling emerged volunteer corn.

Soybeans: Properly applied clethodim will control all of your volunteer corn. The use of FOP-based chemistry will not control volunteer corn that contains the Enlist herbicide tolerance.

Corn: You have options depending on the trait package that your corn currently contains and contained last growing season. Give Farmacy a call to go over this in detail.

Let the test begin 🌱

Test plots are going in across our area and we’re excited to see how everything stacks up this year. New, old and everything in between all being put through a local test.

Now we wait, watch, and see what rises to the top!

Gotta have fun at work. This winter Leroy sanded down the chemical forklift and repainted green and white. Colton redrew Farmacy to match Gatorade. Carson and I put the decals on yesterday. Darrell Waltrip - The King of Bristol - Boogity.

From Halloween to now, we’re in the driest stretch on record. On top of that, it’s been the hottest this period has been in the past 134 years statewide.

So if it feels unusually dry and warm—you’re not imagining it.
